I've been reflecting on why people are like this, and it makes sense when you notice that "based" content was being circulated in mid 2010, literally all kids born in the 2000s grew up watching Jordan Peterson pwning the gays and conservative talk points masked as "self help". Trump uses his public image to be the embodiment of this "based" individual.

The old people voting for him either are gullible as fuck, or they are addicted to social media and want to feel young by also connecting with these brainwashed kids who probably don't even know how confess works. (Don't forget the grifters trying to mimic Trump's persona either)

A lot of this bullshit started with guys like Lee Atwater and Rush Limbaugh in the 1980s. The nonstop lies, the hair on fire pseudopanics, the victimhood and persecution complexes, etc. Social media just amplified it from AM radio, sites like The Drudge Report, and chain emails to in front of everyone’s face anytime anywhere.

Or at least give him one of those white trash Afrikaners they attempted to bring over here before the oppressed whites bailed due to the lack of handouts.

Vs. the reality that he is an increasingly senile old grifter screwing over his base to make a few bucks before he shits the bed and his family fades into utter irrelevance.

I keep my 401k in an age-balanced Vanguard fund so whatever happens will smooth itself out over time.

That's the smart thing to have your money in if you don't want to pick stocks. Vanguard is solid. Nice and low cost

In the past I used to audit 401k plans and the Vanguard fees were always the lowest. Let the professionals handle my target date fund, I certainly can't do any better.

I miss working in that service line because you felt like you were on the side of the people vs. the employer.

I remember the "SJW owned" and conservative self help propaganda videos coming out about 10 years ago. I'm in that early 2000's age group so saw it take hold in my generation first hand.
Zoomer men absolutely ate it up, while Zoomer women were obviously disgusted by it and anyone that watched it.
It wouldn't surprise me to find out that these SJW owned videos were the catalyst behind why Zoomers in particular are increasingly believing that political violence can be justified, and Zoomer men and women being politically divided between themselves.
