No, it hasn't. Most people are blissfully unaware of what furries are, and most who are aware of them think they're vile deviants. The opinions expressed on this thread are pretty typical of what people generally think when they're first exposed to this stuff.
Something that really bothers me about the furries that's not about the sex and fetish stuff (though a lot of that bothers me too) is the rise in Nazi Furs and to a lesser extent Soviet Furs and Antifa Furs. I could sort of see why someone would try to be an Antifa Furry because the mainstream media does sort of gloss over the crimes of Antifa, but Nazis and Soviets? C'mon, Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union are at the top of the list for "most horrific regimes in human history" and when you think of genocidal tyrant dictators, Hitler is at the top of the list with Stalin in a close second.
You'd think that with the large number of LGBT individuals in the fandom combined with the fact that both the Nazis and the Soviets openly persecuted and murdered gays and lesbians, that Nazi Furs and Soviet Furs wouldn't be a thing beyond mere uniform fetishism, but as seen with Foxler and the Antifa Furries, a lot of these creeps are taking it seriously.
Personally, I'd find it hilarious if someone in the furry fandom started an "Allied Furs" subculture where they dress up like World War II and Korean War-era American G.I.'s and British soldiers just to piss off the Nazi Furs and Soviet Furs. It'd still be very autistic, but a lot less odious than Foxler or the Antifa Furries.
This is a fandom whose reputation is now based upon conventions where dubious things take place and companies who sell dildoes shaped after animal genitalia. There's also the latent zoophilia present in something sexual involving animal traits of any magnitude. I'm well aware that the public's reception and interpretation of the fandom is anything but postitive -- this just hearkens back to the fandom not doing "enough" to police itself in its infancy to weed this kind of behavior out.
There's people who condemn the gross stuff today, but for every fur with a head on their shoulders there's a dozen more responsible for things like the clap outbreak at Furry Weekend Atlanta that was posted just today. Not enough people give a shit. F-List exists. We have entire websites, countless ones even, dedicated to cataloging specific porn and fetishes. It's a reputation not worth saving because it couldn't even save itself.
Remember though that unlike Bronies or Steven Universe Fanbase which only covers exactly one franchise, a furry is basically a genre, just like the anime. It never died down and it'll be creep up overtime.
If you're yiffy and you know it, get the clap.
If you're yiffy and you know it, get the clap.
If you're yiffy and you know it, the burning sensation will surely show it.
If you're yiffy and you know it, get the clap!
I've been keeping tabs lurking on GreyMaria's profile but he hasn't said anything recently. Still silent as usual. I did find another guy who i've forgotten about that also complains about Patreon just like him though. This time, it's Nights4life / Lapisideya. His tumblr is dashboard view only so you need an account to view it.
He's no artist, but some guy who makes fanfiction stories on and off about his favorite fandoms. As far as fandoms go, he likes porn from Mlp, Sonic, Pokemon, Five Nights at Freddys, Total Drama Island, Steven Universe and many more. Just like GreyMaria, Nights hates artists who post Patreon exclusive shit and vents about it on his blog on and off.
Take note of the last two tags. Those are two artists he specifically tagged which are both MLP artists.
That last one has a response from someone, which surprised me because the post isn't deleted.
I know about this guy a couple years ago because i used to see him asking questions to artists on and off. Most of which was art related asking them if they were going to draw nude versions of something. If you drew a character he likes clothed, he would want to know if there was a nude variant. If yousearch his name through tumblr's search system, you will find his questions he's sent to people. If you dig deeper, you'll find some where he has pissed some people off. When it does happen, people just mock him for it through notes.
Oh, and how could i forget the best one when he unfollowed an artist because they didn't post a nsfw mlp porn drawing publicly.
I don't know what it is with these people hating Patreon and artists at the same time, but it does spawn some exceptional individuals to laugh at.
No, I got that. But... I don't know if I should be shocked anyone there had actual sex or shocked at my complete and utter lack of surprise that they spread the clap around.
But mainly - I wonder if the person/people with the clap before the convention even knew they had it, and if so, did they honestly think it would make them less fuckable if they told people they had the STD. I mean, they're already unwashed and wearing full body fursuits.
All these shitheads whining about Patreon are too young to remember the "original paywall" of the early internet: low resolution. Artists could share their art, but often times the quality permitted by dial up connections was relatively low. To get "high res" stuff from artists you liked you had to buy actual honest to goodness physical prints and have them mailed to you.
Yeah, these people who whine about Patreon really are pathetic. You can just feel the immaturity oozing from every post. Bet most of these losers are about 20, but again, only 14 or 15 mentally. None of them have a single valid reason why the art should not be behind a paywall other than they simply want it for free.

Eh, to my knowledge, most will just start dishing out the cash. There's enough art out there for free, really. If someone really thinks that more than the constant flow of art/porn is worth it, they'll pay for it. To be fair, most of the stuff out there is shit, but there's still some stuff that obviously has some talent put into it that you can find for free. The people whining about paywalls are just entitled little shits.
I dunno man, I've seen some really homely people on Twitter posting nudes and bragging about things (shortly before I mute or unfollow the person retweeting it). Desperation is a hell of a drug.

I forgot to mention about Nights4life. He mentioned on his tumblr, though i didn't post the screencap that he has a JOB. Not sure if it's part time or full time, but i don't understand how you have a job but complain about paywalls. Why not throw money at the artist and be content with it.
