He's got a very elequent way of speaking. I don't even remember his raising his voice even when people started screwing with him over cloning.
Didn't know he was Jewish but I guess anything's possible.
He is actually very smart, but unfortunately also very stubborn.
He is genuinely a pleasure to speak with if you don't disagree with him and are just asking annoying questions.

Holy fuck this is dire. Even if expected. Wonder how much more it would take for TG to finally crash and burn. I assume a new server by a toothless and competent host that redditors can tolerate, on the same codebase, will wreck TG. Most people go to TG because it already has a decent pop, so its a loop. Break the loop, offer a redditor a slightly better experience, with same pop, thats when I think TG will finally die.

I dont think much at this point. For years TG enjoyed being known as the main ss13 community and ever since the wallening they took a severe blow to pop that they have not recovered from.

I think if someone put up a medium-to-slow paced RP-based server that doesn't have 9001 retardo rules it would do pretty well. Somewhere that people can tell stories and interact with the main plot while also being allowed to cook meth and blow up the station. It's just really, really hard to find someone willing to host something like that who doesn't have a god complex, and even harder to actually get people to play something new.

Okay, story time with the ♂Performance Artist♂ from Japan LA.
Eons ago, back when Polaris first split off, I used to host a very minor unlisted server in that vein. No, it wasn't Europa or Interbay, they didn't exist back then. Back then, despite being an almighty faggot (so cue the Monty Python "I got better" and/or the "let's celebrate and suck some dick" meme), what killed the server was the tendency of players to spiral into what I consider a predcessor autogynephillia.
For the longest time, bay/aurora (?) has/had a rule, barring major admin shenangains, what happened to your character in a round is not applied to as cannon unless you wanted to have it happen to them. This leads to obvious issues with lore and gameplay interactions, one is that players would funamentally disagree on what events transpired (and the cause of many a lore writers throwing a shitfit). Other is, outside of metacliques, nobody really interacted with you other than a surface level.
What I began to notice in those communities at that around the time (Orange Jesus Mecha Hitler's election) when I had the server being shut down, people would become extremely attached to characters to the point of refusing to acknowledge anything that was not in their specific want for the story. I recall this has been an issue in since the existence of bay, but not to this extent, and not by this amount of players.
These people began to self-insert to (then) an insane degree, if you killed them in one round, they'd rejoin and ruin your game (then bitch in discord/irc/whatever). It got bad enough to where polaris/bay (can't remember) implimented a name filter so people would stop spawning in as the same person to pretend they didn't just get headchoped by an e-sword (In true bay style fashion, the check did not exclude adding an extra space between words or at the end). These people would then worm there way into the admin staff on bay and polaris, and then take petty revenge on people before being eventually being yeeted for being shitheads.
Lord forbid you wipe player (intentionally or by corruption of the SQL databse), save data, or force random names on them as a joke.
tl;dr, the inability to cope and seethe about your sprite pixels dying on ss13 trooned out the the bay spectrum of servers minus IS2 and a maybe one other.

Sethfags did nothing but inject fun into the game, the only people who had a problem with them were gooners and elitistfags who couldn't accept having servers filled with newbies that didn't understand their server's autistic gameplay loop perfectly. Everyone is so used to jerking off in their grimdark pedonigger servers.
The real cancer that was attacking SS13 were streamers. Because while you can deal with a wave of newfags, you cannot deal with a small army of retards who practically take over the game in efforts to make their streamer laugh.

I play it every saturday, not everyone roleplays but pretty much everyone tolerates it and most participate.
It'd be nice to have more interesting people. But if you are looking to roleplay as a woman or a black man you are going to have a bad time.
