I wouldn't say it was all voluntarily. The German-American population underwent a period of rapid assimilation due to anti-German sentiment in the United States at the time. There was a small minority who resisted such efforts but they weren't exactly the norm. So strong was the national population's dislike of Germans that at least one person was lynched by a mob for being suspected spy and another was allegedly tarred and feathered for having a German name and teaching the language. There was major pressure on anyone in the USA that was culturally or ethnically related to Germany.

The problem is that it's not funny and feels incredibly forced, I remember watching the lockdown episode that ended with Mr. Garrison with orange face using a flamethrower to kill the poor wholesome big chungus vaccine doctor. There's no insightful commentary or any of the biting satire like when they made fun of Scientology or Al Gore. It feels like Trey and Matt have a gun to their heads from their producers/handlers and basically have to jump on current thing to keep their show from being axed but they have don't have anything to actually say.

That's not how I see it. To me, South Park is a show that's been running for so long that it satirizes topics I don't care about, and caters to a demographic that does not include me. I'm getting older and the show isn't for me anymore. Honestly, the format of the show is dated.

They made fun of Obama all the time. The episode satirizing people's reactions after Obama's electoral victory in 2008 was pretty funny. Trey and Matt totally skipped over 2024 election commentary, probably because it was a repeat of 2016: Donald Trump being Donald Trump and Kamala Harris being an empty vessel. There are rumors they never went after Biden because Hunter Biden's friend, Kevin Morris, was instrumental in getting South Park on the air at all way back in the day. I'm not saying it's right, but they did owe a favor.

I don't think they're making fun of Trump because they have TDS, I think they're doing it because they can. They like mocking authority and there really isn't anything Trump can do about it since South Park is a comedy show. It's not a news show and they do not present their show as fact. Trump is actually being pretty quiet about the new South Park episodes. The White House response was more about trying to point out how Democrats go after Trey and Matt all the time, which Trey and Matt don't care about. Vance literally said "wow, I've finally made it" when South Park mocked him, which is the correct response.

It's a fucking comedy show that makes shit and dick jokes. If what they're doing is getting ratings, then Trey and Matt are doing their jobs.

Yea I thought the first episode was pretty mid but I enjoyed this last episode a lot more. I think South Park is definitely over the hill but watching all the people in here get angry because their side is getting laughed it pretty cringe.

Matt and Trey make fun of whoever is in charge, whoever is winning in the culture war and always have. Whether that's trannies or republicans.

Vance had the correct take on this the fact that south park is focused on the right now is because the right is for the first time in decades dominating the culture.

I regret to inform you but that map is data from a real study, and no satellites or such things were needed. It was a research team looking into how human sewage affects coastal ecosystems. human waste that breaks down in the ocean makes local levels of nitrogen gas and water born nitrates increase. All they did was take samples from coastal waters around the world and then made predictive maps that show how the contaminated water moves based on ocean currents.

here's another map from that study. not quite as scary as the previous one with out the ocean current mapping, still says the same thing though. India, Korea, China, and turd worlders are dumping so much sewage into the ocean that its having adverse affects on the coral and other sea life. let me quote the researcher.

"The sheer scale of how much wastewater is impacting coastal ecosystems worldwide is staggering,” the study authors said in a statement. “But because we map wastewater inputs to the ocean across more than 130,000 watersheds, our results identify target priority areas to help marine conservation groups and public health officials to work together and reduce the impacts of wastewater on coastal waters across the planet."
