Some people see what's going on and ascribe it to a 'pendulum' shift or a cycle but that's not really what's happening. Leftism for the past two decades(at least) has existed in a vacuum; a protected and heavily censored space where its ideals and concepts were unassailable. it was allowed to change rules and manipulate law from this protected position so the only way to make moves against it we're limited and mostly half measures at best. this protected position was then used to form false a consensus that their ideology had 'won' and had a majority of support. People then naturally fell into line due to the perception that leftism was the common consensus and the fact that they couldn't speak out against it (due to heavy censorship).
