That's nice. But it won't solve debanking and deplatforming because the payment processors (visa, discover, et. al) don't like your product or whatnot. as we've seen with steam and itch.io. Hell, they might do it for lulz.

For these companies with a monopoly, they need to serve the public blindly. you can't just ban someone from using your services when you're the only game in town.

The hatred towards RFK jr. from the left has always been odd and extra spiteful to me. The man is the nephew of the best Dem president ever that helped shaped the image of the Dems to this day, and had to live though the assassinations of both his uncle and his own father by the deep state. Then he entered the family business himself, tried to be a good American and fix things politically, only to be shunned by not just his party, but his own family too. He is very eccentric, sure, but I don't blame him for being that way, and it should be easy for people on both sides to at least empathize with a man who had his family killed by the feds and wants to fix things.

It's simple, traitors get triple the scorn. Same happens to a woman or black that leaves the plantation.

I honestly believe that had RFK's political career reached it's current zenith in the absence of Trump and the pandemic, he would have been hailed as a champion of progressive reforms in healthcare that sought to exercise the demon of capitalist pharma and chemical corps from our food and drug ecosystem. Instead, he's a reject Ren and Stimpy character.

It is unfortunate for some, however. Can't imagine how miserable it must be to be a child and have your parents feed you shit tainted milk that puts you in hospital.

From the article
During a hearing in Miami, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ruled that while the facility can continue operating and holding detainees on behalf of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), no additional filling, paving, or infrastructure work may take place for at least the next 14 days. A written order from the judge is expected later Thursday.
It's literally just a hollow gesture. Nice, order to stop building the thing you already built and are operating. I'm sure the judge is very proud of herself.

Indians trying to slide in before the deadline aren't even safe.
1754591929944.webp
The flood of Indians rushing to reschedule their appointments also took down the (likely H-1B designed and maintained) visa scheduling site and now it's back up, there's no appointments available anywhere. The interview pipeline is now clogged harder than the average curry muncher's plumbing.

Some of these Indians had booked flights and made arrangements contingent on easy dropbox approval and have been completely fucked by this too. Unfathomably based.

Thank you Mr. Trump. What they really need to target next is the PERM process as it's what H-1Bs use to obtain permanent residence since H-1Bs are only good for 6 years max. PERM involves an employer advertising their position in a Sunday newspaper for 30 days as part of the labor market test, then when inevitably nobody applies, they use that as the basis to sponsor the Indian for a green card.

Anybody reading this who is a US citizen can sabotage this process by applying for these jobs at https://www.jobs.now/
Even if you're not really qualified, they're forced to review every resume and note why you're not qualified to the Department of Labor. HR departments get spooked if thousands of resumes come in and withdraw the ad. Applying does work, Indians are getting cucked out of green cards thanks to people applying for these jobs.

Bro, this is going straight to the Supreme Court and we're all gonna get machine guns.
No they're not.
For one, nothing ever happens, but for another the Supreme court has been  really avoidant on touching any gun cases as of late, specifically the assault weapons ban in Illinois.
If this case does reach the supreme court, they're going to waffle for a few months, and then likely uphold the status quo as its been.
I'm not trying to be an obnoxious doomer, but I seriously doubt that anything gun related is going to the Supreme court

W*k* lists 56 wives, lol. Can you imagine? Never a moment of peace and quiet.
Pretty sure they lived seperately. Maybe one house for each wife?
O'Rourke has been in regular touch with House Democrats since President Donald Trump suggested that Texas Republicans shift five congressional districts in their favor. Powered by People has been putting funds aside since Trump's directive, and O'Rourke assured the caucus in the weeks leading up to the potential vote, if they wished to leave the state, they would have his support, both in rhetoric and cash.

Here's to hoping the Texas Court allows Abbott to give the Dem Reps who fled and refused to return to be given the old boot from and don't come back trick.
What was the play anyways? Did they expect Texans to rise in protest and DEMAND that they don’t redistrict, so their beloved Dem representatives can come home?

It seems so fucking stupid. Some Texan voting minimum wage every day won’t appreciate their high payed representatives playing hooky.

Speaking of, any news of birthright citizenship?

This is the kind of fight politicians actually care about since it directly affects their ability to get elected so don't assume they're not serious.

They're probably banking on positive national press to pressure Abbott into accepting concessions since he has other agenda items he wants to get to in the special session, but local Texas democrats haven't gotten the memo that said national press has been utterly buck broken by decentralized media.

Get in the burger.

i remember the rumblings of people and doctors who wanted to prevent unvaccinated people from being treated at hospitals. there are plenty of people who want to be able to shut out undesirables when given the chance

Having the federal government on side helps too.
