My prognostication is that as the Internet gets more enshittened, especially with AI, we'll kind of divide into people whose hobbies are of the physical, practical world and those who are absolutely one-shot by whatever monster is on the horizon.
Think about it, if everything online is fake slop you'll have to find meaning the old fashioned way.

People continue to blame generic cultural zeitgeists instead of the very obvious substitution for reality and using-your-own-brain that’s available now. We have now not only substituted our own opinions for that of the group, but now we allow algorithms to hijack our reasoning and thinking willingly. Things are so divided along a clear and bold line that I truly feel that some people are living or have lived in an alternate reality. It’s incredibly difficult to convince someone to recognize the mediocre facade of algorithmically generated garbage that pollutes every facet of media.

To PL a hair, aside from the Kiwi and some games my hobbies are purely physical skills I try to develop. Martial arts, brewing, playing music, knitting, cooking, reading, writing, etc, these are all real-world endeavors I don’t need the Internet for.
I really do think this divide will become extremely apparent as AI gets bigger, and really if you are a total prompttard the actual humans won’t have a reason to deal with you. And this will suck for the actual humans, we’ll have to live around ‘people’ who are literal NPCs controlled by ChatGPT.

At the very least, some higher-ups knew something was going to happen and they willfully looked the other way. The narrative about where it came from has been completely obliterated so i dont have a quick source but as far as i'm aware the US and chinese government had a joint bioweapons research facility in wuhan and yet there was still a problem with chinese expats smuggling high risk biohazards out of laboratories in the US and Canada into China. The lab in china was straight up being funded by foreign governments as one of those goodwill-building joint research programs that had been going on for a long time. That relationship is one where the chinese are definitely under the thumb of someone else, which was inevitably going to lead to the chinese trying to get one over on their superiors... which that virus smuggling was an obvious attempt to do. Nothing really got done about it considering it happened multiple times, until covid, and then a bunch of lab workers got deported from canada and the US for national security concerns. The virus legitimately just escaped containment because the chinese were running a secure biological research facility like an undergrad chemistry lab and they probably only realized someone was sick with something really bad until it had already spread to half of wuhan. that was also why everyone panicked at the beginning, because everyone knew it was a bioweapon from a bioweapon lab and we were in uncharted territory. I dont know if the virus just got weaker with time or if the omega variant was truly an engineered deactivated version of the virus to inoculate the population or what, but it still wasn't as big of a deal as they wanted it to be.

They also probably knew that big picture people would eventually forget about all of this and it would blow over, which is why i dont think the vaccine was part of "the plan." I dont think they considered it would cost them all of their political capital. Things like TikTok can make it seem like you have ADHD, but if you geniually have it, you'd get bored of it at some point and move onto some other new novelty.

I believe "real" ADHD is genetic, but that the kind of pervasive and perversely compelling media we have perfected in recent years can induce an artificial version of it. Shit like Ritalin won't do anything for that kind of behaviorally induced inability to concentrate and will probably make it even worse.

People with ADHD resulting from some actual endogenous neurotransmitter issue do not experience amphetamines in the same way as normies. In fact, speed paradoxically slows them down. However, people whose ADHD-like behavior is entirely environmental will respond normally to speed, and it will just exaggerate these effects.

I'm pretty sure giving amphetamines to anyone is a shitty solution, though, because one major problem with prescribing amphetamines for ADHD is people with "real" ADHD DO NOT LIKE IT. But they do like money and selling it to their classmates after pretending to take it is definitely a thing.
