The perfect move would have been to open with "I know Nick has said some insane things the past few days"

Because it's the statutory maximum. So if Aaron offers the maximum and then Nick can't show real damages, the Judge is more inclined to not award the fees associated with the bullshit damages.

So that was it huh? I think people have been spoiled with recent lolcow BTS drops that, while seeming like nothingburgers at first, turned out to be huge. Exactly - but then how does the court disentangle any negative effects from this, from her kids being removed, her husband posting about loving and fucking another one, court cases, financial difficulties...

If she was seeing a therapist, are they going to provide notes of their sessions?

On one hand we have a guy giving his young children cocaine and then choke slamming them through tables at the chiropractor, tossing coke bullets in to cars with them to evade police detection while he is being informed his home is about to be raided for said drugs and then instructing the children not to open the door for police so they get to witness the door being physically rammed in, and not feeding or properly clothing them despite near infinite resources, busy banging the two other adults he brought in to a home with said children.
