So this puts the allegations against the nanny entirely into perspective. Somehow he got an inkling that she informed others about what she (allegedly) saw, so all of a sudden Nick remembers her being a lush on the job and giving his kids booze and energy drinks. Very convenient, that you bring that up, unannounced and unasked for right before this comes out.

And, as always with liars, the worst interpretation is to take them at their word and extrapolate from there.

So, Nick knew she was drinking on the job before she left and later on that she was stealing enough bottles of liquor that Nick, a stone-cold alcoholic with money to waste, in a cesspit of a house where stuff probably goes missing all the time, notices. To take him at his word, we also have to believe he was such a non-entity in his children's lives that he didn't notice any of the above alleged behaviour and after catching her drunk didn't even think to ask.

Conveniently after she makes allegations against him, he 'learns' of these things which would discredit her reliability and could be wielded as a threat. He also, again conveniently, makes it public without any prompting, right before these allegations potentially could be made known to the outside.

Even if you assume his allegations are 100% fact, the most reasonable assumption is still that he was a neglectful parent who did not know and did not care to find out about his children being mistreated, until the precise moment allegations against himself were made and, keeping up the streak, didn't see fit to warn anyone else about this potential risk to others children until, again, he was due to be put in the line of fire.

Utter scumbag. I hope his community service has him pick up dog turds with bags that are too thin in the Minnesota summer and drivers-by spit on his bald-spot.

(Almost) No one's going to go to CPS the first time an elementary-aged kid looks messy or says they're hungry, or even that there's "no food at my house" (not saying any kid said that, but it's the kind of things kids say all the time, when what they mean is, "I don't like anything in the cupboards/fridge."). The Rekietas had multiple reports made about their kids (and no, Nick, the nanny wasn't the only one mentioned in the report that included her; you were as well).

That is very unusual and suggests that multiple, uncoordinated people, in different contexts and spanning an extended period of time, observed enough about you and your children that appeared severely out of the normal tolerance to prompt them to raise the alarm formally. THAT IS NOT NORMAL.

And it's not due to jelly poors or people with a personal axe to grind. It's because you and your wife failed to take reasonable care of your family and home.

Perhaps less time and money on blow and fuckfests and plastic surgery and shiny tech you don't understand, and more on laundry and dusting and regular family meals and consistent, non-irritable engagement with your children would have been a better way to be a parent...and to avoid all of the various expressions of deep concern about the goings-on in your home.

I mean, based on everything we've heard, I'm pretty sure Aaron is more of a father to those kids than Nick. IIRC they were pretty upset when he stopped coming over (or at least someone claimed that). So he probably knows them better too.
