I don't think she believes anyone's calling her a cat lady. It's more likely to me at least that she's just trying to strawman here. No one who's going to bother being in her sphere is ever going to be the kind of person that would you know, look into anything. So she gets to create the narrative to them and it makes her look better if she paints her detractors as having nonsense criticisms.
Anyone with any sense of credulity can just look into it and realize she's full of shit in a few minutes, but like I said before, no one who likes fucking Pizzacakecomics is going to bother researching anything.

Lunch Time: The Pizza Incident
In the cafeteria, Ellen sat at the corner table; the one she called the command deck. Her lunchbox had Starfleet stickers, and inside was a single perfect slice of pepperoni pizza.
"I'm eating this in honor of Master Splinter," she declared, placing her napkin like a cape.
Then came Kevin. Kevin was a hallway menace who chewed gum during the rosary and once claimed Star Wars was better than Star Trek just to cause chaos.
Kevin made the mistake of reaching for her pizza.
Ellen didn't blink. "You are violating the Treaty of Toppings, Article IV. Back away, or I'll be forced to engage ninja diplomacy."
Kevin did not listen.
Ellen, channeling the divine power of St. Spock and the ancient martial wisdom of the Turtle Clan, executed a precise, nonviolent napkin-flick to the forehead.
Kevin reeled. "Ow! Did you just napkin-strike me?!"
Ellen stood proudly, her plaid skirt billowing like a battle flag. "Next time, respect the Prime Directive: Don't touch a girl's pizza!"

Her comics could be marginally less unfunny if she switched to a three-panel format instead of four. She has premise, punchline, then immediately dives into another premise with no payoff.

Is she talking about people shooting their dogs for misbehaving? If so shes so full of shit its unreal. Rural nova scotian farmers are famous for insane levels of animal abuse and for regularly killing their dogs over stupid shit, and for leaving cats to fend for themselves without caring whether the coyotes get them at night. Its been a problem in the province for a long, long time. and when they aren't doing shit like that they're leaving them to freeze to death out in some kennel or dumping puppies/kittens into the creek in a sack. I've known tons of people who did that shit and think its completely normal. But what do you expect from the kind of people who 'hunt' deer by frequently running fishing line between trees with multiple fishing hooks rigged into it so when the deer walks between the trees they get snagged and just stand there tangled up in hooks until somebody comes to check and kill it
and I might add, rural nova scotians are also famous for shooting dogs on sight for being on their property, barking at livestock or deer, or just shooting them and claiming they were doing so. Province has some pretty strict laws about dogs disturbing wildlife. You have the pretty much indisputable right to shoot someones dog just for barking at a bush if you claim there was a deer around that was being 'disturbed' and it happens all the time
Hell the dog I have now was rescued from one of these nutters over 10 years ago. The other dogs (that survived) from that litter had to be put down by the SPCA due to going nuts from neglect and organ damage from starvation and dehydration. I got her cause he left her in one of those dog cages at the end of my driveway at 6am when it was -20 outside. Only reason she didn't freeze to death before I knew she was there is because I happened to run out of wood early in the morning and went out to the shed to get another armload and heard the dog whining for help
So yeah, i'll say it again - she's full of shit and lying through her teeth. You'd be hard pressed to find a place were animals are treated worse, outside of maybe an indian reservation, anywhere in the country
Its real interesting she draws comics like that with people expecting to see some creepy perv pop out of the bushes, considering her own history and behavior of doing nude shit outside.
