I really love blush/pink wedding dresses. They look similar enough to white they just kind of look like a white dress in slightly different lighting, and they're really flattering if it matches your skin tone well. My senior prom dress was pink and tulle and I went with a friend who was wearing white, so in the event-lighting people were joking that we looked like brides. Imo a great option for people who want "different colored" wedding dresses-- super light blue works well too.

Honestly, if my husband and I had more money, we'd totally upgrade our rings with bling. I imagine in a couple of decades this will be more possible.

Maybe if it's a goth themed wedding and you have a really elegant dress. But to me the worst wedding dress color would be red. It just looks horrible. I've seen some pics of red clad brides and it just doesn't work.

Or you're Chinese. I've seen lovely Chinese wedding dresses that were red (under all the embroidery and gold thread at least.

I work part time at a wedding venue, so I’ve definitely got my share of stories. We had one about a month or so ago that was just a shitshow. Here’s some of the bits I remember:
-The DJ plugged into the wrong wall, so the power went out twice. Once right before I clocked in, again a few minutes later.
-Took about an hour and a half for the salads to go out because people would not sit down or leave the bar alone iirc.
-Four or five party crashers showed up.
-We had to abruptly stop the dinner line for a good minute because the bride got up to take a phone call.
-Some lady was going hard on karaoke way past when the DJ was supposed to go back on. She wasn’t great.
-I faintly overheard my bosses complaining about some shit that was going on with the bride.
-Someone brought a dog, and it pissed in the bridal suite.
The wait staff probably witnessed way more than that. I’ve also got assorted other anecdotes from them, like one guest soiling themselves in the ballroom, or an accidental fire caused by a kerosene lamp.

I was thinking that while reading the thread, red seems like a very Chinese thing to wear for your wedding. IMO the worst color for a wedding dress is cream/champagne/beige. It looks like a white dress you let get old and gross in the attic, or if you're the same color it looks like you're naked. Which, while I'm talking about it, those skin-colored fabrics that make your dress look like it has bigger cutouts? GROSS. I hate that so much, it's just so, so trashy. It screams "I wanted to dress like a cheap whore at senior prom but the bitch faculty wouldn't let me so I'm pretending to with gross peach colored fabric." Honestly, "nude" colored anything is just trashy. It never matches your skin exactly and it tries too hard to be "Neutral" or see-through when it isn't.

No yeah, pantyhose is basically made to be skin colored because it's mostly see-through anyway. It's like a smoothing filter for your legs. It doesn't look like fake flesh draped over your body.

I don't think people actually listen to lyrics. The last wedding I went to had "Mr. Brightside" played at the dance portion of the wedding, which is about a guy finding that his girlfriend cheated on him. The song is catchy and the playlist was filled with the usual recognizable crowd-pleasers, but come on now!

The problem with opals in daily wear jewelry is that they are so easily scratched or damaged. I'm no fan of diamonds or the diamond industry but one reason they are the default for marital jewelry is because they actually last. Moissanite is a better alternative if you're frugal.
