What makes me slightly MATI, is that if the children *did* see something, there were ill-equipped to deal with it due to their 1) age and immaturity and 2) their dependence on Nick and Kayla for their food and general welfare or 3) both. For all the justified critique of CPS, I think Kandiyohi County acted exactly as I'd want a CPS to act in this case. Scoop up the kids and take them into care while you assess the situation. Ideally, locating them with family to minimize disruption and distress. Then focus on bringing the parents into compliance with what most people regard as normal family life. Kick out the whore. Tip out the booze. Start monitoring the urine. Gradually begin supervised visits until such time as it's deemed safe to let the kids go back -- and then maintain monitoring until you're confident they've changed their ways.

Reality: The rule against hurting Nick's feelings.

MNPR has not violated a site rule. They have unusual access to information which they post for discussion (and I am sure they probably lurk or discuss it on an alt), but they do NOT make direct calls to action or address Nick directly. They are simply a dedicated alog. In many ways, they subvert the typical alog role, but they do so successfully: Their segmented release of the CPS transcript was definitely non-attention whoring or annoying and navigated a very tight rope to do so. They also do not engage in the discussion openly to collect cachet among us. They are clearly invested, but know their place (at least to-date) and do not step beyond it.
