I don't own any Apple silicon machines but I'm genuinely curious if Asahi Linux is actually usable as a daily driver? I saw on the website that there is a Fedora distro. I would look into it more but I don't want to catch the gay.

As much as I detest Hector and he will never be a woman, that's quite an accomplishment and he deserves props for it. Not the kind of props he wants, but for everything except pretending to be an underage anime girl.

It's way more usable now but still has issues and abysmal battery life compared to MacOS. The current rumor is Linus Torvalds himself has taken an active interest because he prefers lightweight laptops like the MacBook Air. I can't recall whether he posted about it on Mastodon or it came up on the kernel contributor mailing list but Hector was essentially gloating about Linus relying on his kernel work. I think Linus runs the Fedora version now but I’m not certain and stopped giving a shit what Linus has had to say since kernel version 6.1.

I don’t disagree he could be making more as an employed dev, especially for a company with an interest in getting support for an ARM or RISC-V with the kernel and the rest of the Linux userland. Though I think his tranny buddy Alyssa would make more because the graphics portions of those chips SoC implementation is the hardest part; see the ThinkPad X13 with the Snapdragon chip if you want to know how behind it is. Though they are both project maintainers for Mesa 3D, so maybe Hector knows as much as Alyssa now.

Recalling his work history by memory: Hector is a former Google SRE just like Liz Fong Jones is. He made some good money, moved to Japan while working for another company, eventually chose to quit to focus full time on Ashai Linux. Yeah the opportunity cost is there but he is able to make enough from donations to afford to live in a very expensive city, go out to eat, but overpriced anime merchandise, and still act as a sugar daddy for $1.5K a month for some tranny. He clearly makes enough and probably isn’t worried about going homeless. Hector isn’t the first distro dev to live off of donations, e.g Volkerding of Slackware.

I also wouldn’t be shocked if he got a grant from the Linux foundation to support the development for Apple Silicon. He has name dropped Linus and there are other Linux devs who love using Macs.

Two Acked-by's are a bit underwhelming for a coordinated push with

With my first contribution, I had the perception that anyone with a
computer and good email provider (there are some practical exceptions to
this) could contribute to the mainline Linux kernel. After managing
someone's 5-year-old patch, I percieved that you can even do it by
accident.

Of course, it's easy to call this naive and ignorant. I accepted this
explanation and respected this request to not turn this into a public
discussion until the time comes. Now, I wonder if this patch was written
and applied later than it should have been because we misunderstood the
kernel contribution process as an aristocracy for this specific case.

Hector of course responds in the most smug way possible.

The patch is by Linus, it's acked by Greg (who originally introduced the
"real name" wording) and by Mike (SVP of Projects & Legal at the Linux
Foundation, i.e. a lawyer). What more do you want?

Things don't always happen as one envisioned, but now the problem is
fixed either way. Linus ultimately gets to write the rules on this,
there's no need for more acks.

Ultimately the reality is that enforcement of the "real name" rule has
been wildly inconsistent and some subsystems (like DRM) have always
accepted pseudonyms. The original wording was misguided and conflated
names with identity, leading to the eventual divergence of opinion on
how it should be enforced. The subject came up offline, and now the
official wording has been changed to match reality (i.e. that what the
kernel actually wants is knowing who people are in an abstract sense of
trust/continuity/reachability, not their "real" name whatever that might
mean).

The takeway: Somehow, Hector got in a private conversation with Linus to get him to modify the rule. So Hector gets to have two identities for contributions and confusion gets to reign. Hector of course will do mental gymanstics about this with the XY vulnerability but its interest to see how these issues start at the very beginning.

Probably has been mentioned before but I feel the need to elaborate a little bit more about misskey; It's a fucking loli shit weeb haven. As you mentioned in your post, it shares the same infamy that of pawoo, but misskey became more popular because of two reasons: 1- because it isn't linked to pixiv (on which some artists started being censored for their depraved shit) and 2, since a lot of artists were starting to get banned from Xitter, for the same reasons that of pixiv, so they needed a new place to post their shit freely. At first you could watch anything posted without an account, but suddenly they changed it and added the need of an account, but as you mentioned, they added the geoblocking to keep the gaijins away off their sekrit club. It doesn't really fucking matter since you can still see the content of a misskey account through other instances (like pawoo). I know it has been said how bad pawoo is, but I think misskey is even worse with all the disgusting shit posted. That's the place nip artists go to post the porn they know that can't be posted anywhere else.

It's extremely hard, but not impossible to find that. It's probably gonna be extremely niche things with a more offline than on userbase, and older than most. Think mostly boomers at the youngest. In my experience, the best way to get into things like that will be, first off, finding something that you actually like. And then it's usually something obscure enough where you have to "know somebody who knows somebody", and actually have to put in the effort to talk to people and meet up in person, which are both usually kryptonite to the average troon. The few message boards and forums for, say, old tech heads who can tell you about the one guy in some nondescript location in the midwest who still winds and wax pots inductor coils by hand for vacuum tube AM radios, or a 80 year old retired appliance repair handyman who's finally giving up his lifetime passion and collection of parts and tools to keep the hobby alive, to be snapped up by guys who are 20 years younger at most and approaching retirement themselves,... they generally are "Too old to put up with that shit" when it comes to gender ideology and other bullshit. It's kinda weird to think that some of the hobbies that I have, being a [REDACTED] aged millenial, I'm still a good 20+ years younger than the average hobbyist of my particular interests.

I had seen these pix and this "Luna Nielsen" JewBook profile before when I was looking into this myself. I also had, and still do, have my doubts though. For one, this troon, for better or worse, seems to at least be in a bit better shape, and his (God forgive me for even saying this...) "titty skittles" seem to at least have had some effect.

Meanwhile the "confirmed" LunaFoxgirl troon just appears to be a pudgy out of shape dude with a gunt.

Also, these pictures seem to have been taken in similar timeframes, and the confirmed LunaFox has notably thicker wrists and more manly hands, at least from what I could see in the picture. On the other hand though, according to his LinkedIn profile,* the "confirmed" Lunafox and the one here do live in roughly the same area. But another check agains it being the same is the FB Luna's profile has an extreme lack of anything to do with anime or faggy computer programming or v-tuber shit that is all over the confirmed LunaFox profiles throughout social media. So... maybe???

Yes, I'm fairly certain those are different people. If you magnify the fox picture you can see that he has stringy unwashed troon hair, not the surprisingly feminine curls of the top picture.

You have to be resident in JP for 10 years before you can apply for a permanent residence visa, allowing you to work w/o a sponsor. You can't just quit a job and do your own thing otherwise.
