Were 20 year olds in the 90/early 2000s this autistic about "adult themes" in cartoons? I wonder if there's some loon out there who made a video/essay about the political and feminist commentary of Rugrats or Tiny Toons.
Lauren Zuke is much more narcissistic and embarrassing than I could have ever imagined.
There was an episode where Phil and Chuckie dress as girls to get cookies from two boys.I wonder if there's some loon out there who made a video/essay about the political and feminist commentary of Rugrats or Tiny Toons.
There was an episode where Phil and Chuckie dress as girls to get cookies from two boys.
Someone tried to analyze it and make it into a "Chuckie and Phil are closeted trans kids" and that the two boys who were mortified when they learned what was under the skirt were transphobic.
I don't see the problem with adult humor in kids shows, if you do it right. Like that one suicidal guard in Spongebob.
No child got that joke.
More adult themes in children media are as old as children media. Calm down...
If that really is Lauren, that's one sure way to never be hired by anyone again.

It just goes to show that all their "uwu diversity representation" is just a creepy sexual fetish they have that they try to mask off as being "enlightened". Seriously, fuck these people![]()
While I know nothing about her working conditions or the studio at large, why on earth would you put this stuff on a public blog? At the very least make sure your thoughts are coherent and you have evidence if you're trying to legitimately call out a company for overworking you.
Well I was coming from a different angle; almost every branch in the entertainment media industry has long had problems with treating employees fairly (refusing to give benefits, breaks, paying overtime, etc). And given that the jobs are so highly competitive, keeping your complaints internal can just be a way to get yourself fired and have another sucker take your place and keep the cycle going.OTOH publicly complaining about your employer overworking you seems like a fairly effective way of making them stop employing you entirely.
I wonder if this happened with anyone else. I thought Steven was a pre-teen when I first started watching the show, given how he looks and acts. I was surprised that he's fourteen.
This rabbit hole just got a lot more interesting now. /sug/ found what is allegedly Lauren Zuke's private blog, and well... it gets interesting, if not exceptional.
The tl;dr: Some have speculated that Rebecca or someone told her 'No' about pushing her ship (Lapis/Peridot) and then that set Zuke off on this tear, and she's calling someone (Rebecca or another person) an abusive narcissist. No one is 100% sure if this is really her, but the signs seem to point to it being her.

Make of this what you will.
It used to be tartshow, but she deleted it.It could be her. She seems like an exceptional snowflake to me. She also made note that she received a binder on Nov 9th. If those other posts had time stamps it could help prove it was her alt.
What's the url on the account?
Is every single person who makes this show pretty much like the fans of it? I've heard of "going native" and acting more like your fans, but the only things that seems to separate the average SU fan from the average SU staff member is a minute bit of artistic talent and a general idea of a career.
