Prior to a year or even two years ago, it was very subtle to the untrained eye.

His casual demeanor and his speech peppered with “or whatever” and I “guess” sentence enders, suggests that he’s a very low maintenance low expectation kind of guy.

Gestures like repeatedly stressing to viewers: “please don’t donate to me if you can’t afford to” was something that even won favor from me in the early days. I can’t think of another streamer aside from Good Lawgic who went out of their way to regularly communicate that.

Also, while the Kino Casino repeats the claim that Nick celebrated and grifted over the misfortune of others, it seems like a reach of not flatly incorrect. In watching his trial coverage and even post-trial coverage myself, he came off as more unemotional and impartial compared to his counterparts. I don’t recall him openly delighting in anyone’s downfall prior to a year ago.

Perhaps this was the malignant addition to the narcissism (which he openly admitted to), in which he cannot allow himself to be seen as needy, and perhaps the cool detached act that he put up was too exhausting for him to maintain once he’d “won” enough in life to earn him respect in the eyes of JuJu and his own dad.

This is the one thing that I have trouble reconciling: “What was real?” Though, I suspect it is the same question survivors of malignant narcissists ask themselves all the time.

The area he currently lives in was not where he grew up. He moved closer to his in-laws.

He mostly grew up in the minneapolis then-outer suburb of Lakeville. He went to his final three years of college in Marshall MN which is three hours to the west of Minneapolis in the middle (IMO) of nowhere.

Then he returned to the MInneapolis-St. Paul area for maybe 3 or 4 years before moving out to the Wilmar MN area. A rural area about 2 house west of Minneapolis.

I never got the impression that he was any more attached to Lakeville where he grew up than he was attached to Wilmar. His main rational complaint about Minnesota is the high taxes.

But his other motivation was that he hated small-town rural life and wanted to live someplace completely degenerate closer to porn shops with gay bays, black street drug dealers, streetwalker prostitutes, a large swinger community and of course lots of gay bars.

I'm not sure where he lives would make much difference to his life. He is basically a shut-in anyway. He would probably have better access to STDs. He might get robbed or beat up. But all he wants to do is lay around the house wired on coke and drunk out of his mind anyway.

I'm reminded of one of Nick's first Twitch streams. This was before locals, early early Nick, back when he was doing Youtube then a smaller afterparty on Twitch where he gamed. (This didn't last long cause he didn't get much traction on Twitch.)

He had mentioned during the Youtube show that he had to take one of the kids somewhere at like 8 AM. He was on Twitch and someone paid to "highlight this message" to get his attention, and said something like.

"If you stop right now and go to bed, you'll get 4 hours of sleep before you have to be up to do things in the morning."

Nick paused, visibly looked taken aback, and said "... Actually yeah I should probably cut it off here" and ended the stream a few minutes later. Lots of reeing about Stream Killing commenced.

While I too have repeated the common Libertarian sentiment (and I believe) that the US government is incompetence to the core, and cannot do anything in a timely or fully correct manner, I don't think they would look at all the evidence that's been presented so far, and come to the conclusion that the kids going back to that house is the appropriate decision.

It would take a miracle in the form of legal arguments and weaselly language, in my opinion, to get everything thrown out and have the kids returned to him. I think that's when we'd be able to assume this department is run by actual monkeys.
