It's also the same as the guy everyone meets at some point in life who can't stop talking about how much box they smash. The more you make the claim the more likely the opposite is true.I feel like people who call themselves "empaths" seem narcissistic and it's like some form of "I am a good person, respect me" virtue signalling to the crowd. It's the same vibe as some guy calling himself "a nice guy"
I don't think Adam is even on that level. I think he sees someone is sad and thinks that ability to recognise base human emotions makes him an empath, as opposed to normal (which he isn't, so I can understand his confusion).Usually, what these people are experiencing is basic "emotional mirroring," which is only one small neurological aspect of empathy and hardly qualifies as making you an "empath."
