It's a bit late. Indie games haven't been that since the grant money for walking simulators dried up. The last one I can think of What Remains of Edith Finch.

The PS4 was just plagued with utterly uninteresting games.

What's interesting to me is that the PS4 was just a system that played BloodBourne for basically it's entire run. The PS5 doesn't even that distinction.

From what I understood, the reason they chose 3 instead of 2 was that 3 was the most popular game in the series. I guess they figured it would sell better. But either way, I think a new entry would be better; AlphaDream was shuttered after the 3 remaster.


I have been saying this for years. AlphaDream should have made M&L 6 with Wario & Waluigi as the guest characters. Considering the Waluigi craze at the time, it would have done phenomenally, and that quartet is a natural fit. 4 characters, each with their own buttons, just like Partners in Time with the babies.

I still don't get why Nintendo refuses to make a Waluigi game. It would sell gangbusters based off of memes alone.

Unless PS5 does some huge turnaround then the PS4 is pretty much their last halfway respectable system, I'd say.

More than just indie games, I'm tired of all these games that are overly depressing with their "no happy endings" bullshit. I'm sick of the nihilism. Give me a happy ending, where the hero saves the girl and they all live happily ever after or whatever. I think it's part of why I liked Tales of Arise so much, it just gave me the kind of story I'd been wanting for a long time.

It's funny, but one reason Sega eventually lost the console wars is because they made some dunderheaded moves, both major and minor....

Not sure if this is entirely unpopular but considering how hard people still jack off to Elden Ring I honestly think Sekiro is FromSoftware's masterpiece. I know they're completely different games but Sekiro has such a fun combat system, the game is tightly focused with a good narrative that isn't just cryptic, and it's a complete package with no dlc. I always get choice paralysis when playing Elden Ring because of all the different builds and weapons you can create, which I know is why people like the game but Sekiro still has lots of ways to experiment without having to focus on leveling stats and weapons. I still like Elden Ring and think it's fun but Sekiro blew my mind and I feel like it doesn't get any love since Elden Ring released.

Demon's Souls and all the clones it spawned (Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden ring) have been a disaster for the gaming world. They are not legitimately fun unless you enjoy shitty mechanics, cheap deaths, and deliberately unfair gameplay masquerading as "difficulty", they're generic as fuck and interchangeable, and most cucks only play them to totally prove how they're #RealGamers. Yet because they have stat sheets and "builds", cucks think they're RPGs when Skyrim is closer to being an RPG (since it is) than FromSoftware's cuck shit. Now if you enjoy this, fine, some people just have shit taste and nothing'll change that, but these games are, from an objectively speaking standpoint, poorly made.

FromSoftware should have made a sequel to Chromehounds instead of this shit.

The only FPS that matters, anyway. There were a few Call of Duty games, Goldeneye, and something called Moon (which was terrible). All of them feel stiff and crappy. Metroid Prime Hunters worked really well.

Speaking of quirky.... speaking as a fan of Earthbound, these days whenever a game claims to be "Earthbound inspired" that makes me more inclined to avoid it than to play it. Especially after Omori turned out to be a trash-heap.

I'm also a fan of Earthbound, actually having played it when it was new, on a cartridge, and being surprised to find so many people just disgustingly obsessed with it when I started getting online. Yeah, it's a great game, one of my favorites, but when I was a kid I liked Secret of Evermore and Final Fantasy VI more, lol.

"Earthbound-inspired" just now makes me assume it's gonna be a game about troons and their sadbrained thoughts, and the enemies are gonna be parallels of chuds that you ~kill with kindness~, but also there's a satanic undertone that's about as subtle as a foghorn, and the whole thing's gonna be gay as fuck, in both the homosexual and wimpy sense.

It did work really well, which is a bit surprising. The controls were awkward but nothing you can't adapt to. It was the first FPS I played online, and it was really fun.
