Stephie, the 10 year old, is trying to use Descartes method of doubt philosophy (that no 10 year old other than a Mary Sue or child prodigy should know) to make Frank doubt he is what he is and turn against medical science.

If Frank had the Mary Sue powers that Sophie has, his retort would have been something along the lines that by doubting he is male and has a penis, then he knows he is, in fact a male and has a penis because Sophie is able to make him doubt the concept it in the first place so the concept has to exist for Sophie to even bring it up and interrogate him.

Soph/Steph's beliefs are actually in line with Medieval thought in that there is a set authority (Sophie) and that going against that makes you a heretic of the Church of Sophie. She thinks herself a god more or less as what she says must be true simply because she says/believes it.

I knew that Modern Philosophy class would come in handy one day.

No, the doctor didn't "pick" it for you, he saw that you had a penis and can produce sperm, which indicates that you're male, and therefore biologically opposite of a woman.

I thought "cis" was originally a chemical term. It was adopted by trans people because somebody found the "trans" prefix and had a bit of chemistry experience to find that there was the "cis" prefix and then needed a unknown slur against the Other, so they started the whole cisscum bullshit.

Here's a good article on the old uses of cis and trans in chemistry. Which I am too drunk tonight to make a whole lot of sense of.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but... don't parents also consent? Or are the doctors forcing them to gender their kids? In fact, Loic (the pregnant transman who is the "father" of the baby in the watermark) was chastised by Stophie for abusing their child by assigning the child male. Did Stophie chastise them for listening to their evil medical professional?

"Because the doctor told me," is a perfectly adequate answer to the question "How did you know you're a boy?" Stephen is deliberately evading the greater question: How did you know you're a girl despite the doctors, your parents, teachers, and everyone in the whole wide world told you otherwise? Stephen cannot answer this question, because we know the true reason: I want to be a speshuler snowfake than everyone else!!

And note Frank didn't exactly say "Because the doctor told me", but "Because the doctor picked it from me." Despite his expression of doubts, Frank has in fact turned into another Labelle mouthpiece.
