I was watching a movie called My Dinner with Andre, about two playwrights reconnecting after years apart. At one point in the discussion, they mention that people are completely blind to reality and modern plays only serve to exacerbate that blindness (a grim warning, given that this movie was made in 1980.) It occurred to me that Bob and company match this description to a T. They have no idea about reality, except some image in their head of How Things Ought To Be, and the movies/books/products they consume only serve to reinforce their delusions; when reality inevitably intrudes, they lose their collective minds.

(As an aside, you can watch the full movie here. It's a movie you ought to see at least once in your life. Unless you're Bob, in which case it may be a bit too complicated for you.)

You can thank the early 90's craze for pythons as pets and hurricane Andrew for both pythons and constrictors, neither variety of snake are native to North America let alone Florida, being introduced to the Everglades. When the snakes were to big or the kid lost interest in an animal that just lays there, the snake would just be thrown into the swamp. They are a real problem because they're invasive. Especially in the red states where Medicare funds can't be used to pay for them. A first trimester abortion can cost up to about $1000 and anything later than that will cost more.

By comparison, a bus ticket or a train ticket or a plane ticket from a red state to a blue state is a minor expense
