Highly overrated imo. It gives good insight into the life of lesbians in the 50s-70s. But as a work of fiction, it's boring as fuck. I also don't know why the troon crowd loves it so much. It pretty much establishes that dysphoria is a result of oppression and internalized homophobia and ends with the main character detransing and living as a woman. There's also a very questionable subplot of the main character committing rape by deception. She "passes" as a man and fucks a straight waitress with a strapon in the dark. But the waitress turn out to be homophobic and mean so it's ok I guess?

That's a good point actually. Troons frequently actually castrate themselves and it doesn't remove the desire to penetrate women's spaces. So yeah, I guess there is no solution other than preventing grooming.

Estrogen and testosterone messes with connective tissue. Heart valves are extremely important to living and that's connective tissue. Testosterone increases your chance of heart issues. Estrogen causes issues with autoimmune systems.

I have said it multiple times and I'll say it again; when you transition, you die from suicide, complications, or someone who is nice pulls the plug to let you out of your misery.

I believe the solution would be the realisation that just because they have "societal disadvantages", that doesn't entitle them from impinging on other people's rights, and that forcing people to conform to their delusions lest they suffer actual consequences does not endear them to the cause. A lot of the issues that get posted on here come from troons that want to gain access to spaces (concrete, like women's shelters, or abstract, like dating pools) that their sex prevents them from joining. Dysphoria is an internal distress; it shouldn't be caused by other people, and measures (therapy or surgery) are taken to address that and only that.
