i think most of the general public who isn't that online, like millennials and gen x who have real jobs and kids for example, and definitely anyone older than that with a life, are just mildly confused to be honest. they don't know why trans is a big issue or why there are a lot more trans people now, they may have heard the word nonbinary once but don't know what it means and will probably never find out, and they just generally don't have any interest in the topic. they probably think the men look weird and are live and let live about it and probably use the pronouns if they ever run into a troon because they don't see the harm really but don't invite him out, or, they will have heard about it from conservative talk show hosts dropping it in as a joke about safe spaces or whatever. their idea of troons is from older media and badly outdated. it really isn't even a problem for most people, unless they learn about trannies ensnaring their kids on discord. ultimately, they just don't care, and good for them. it does seem worse to us than it really is because we're always looking directly into the void. i don't really like trans people or their cult but we do see the absolute worst of it here.

to answer your question i think the "backlash" is going to be molasses slow and it's not going to be that much more than a few minor regulations. the medical scandal (puberty blockers, genital mutilation) is going to mostly be resolved behind the scenes and swept under the rug and have one hbo documentary about it or something in ten years. these kinds of surgeries will still exist but in more limited cases. normal people will be a little more hesitant around these people but not to any noticeable degree. it will remain a popular subculture for another few decades, then young people will move onto being a virtual reality otherkin or whatever is next. it's going to be a low energy, low attendance troons/woke/libs versus women/religious/cons war for the forseeable future. in america, i think a republican may win in the next election which may hasten the cultural and social backlash against trans shit. but i don't think a troon reckoning is coming ever.

to the normies' credit i don't think any of them truly believe trans women are women. even the liberal ones.
i really despair for all of the people who are going to be raped or fuck up their bodies but that isn't changing.
what will change is the resurgence of teaching stranger danger to kids among parents who know what this is.

if i'm being honest the best tool against trans activists is just weaponizing woke shit and amplifying divisions.
also they hate satire about their community most of all, because they take themselves way too seriously.

Fun fact: if you remove a man’s testicles before puberty, his adrenal glands take over production of testosterone (though in smaller amounts). So eunuchs do eventually develop male secondary sex characteristics (hence how you could still tell Chinese eunuchs were male, even though something looked off). Bombarding the body with cross-sex hormones at the same time is probably what causes the weight gain (that and trauma).

An incredibly common conversation I have with normies is something along the lines of "trans women? Is that the one where the woman wants to be a man, or is it a man that wants to be a woman?". Some of these normies are only one degree of separation from people I know who go on trans rights marches shouting Trans Women Are Women.

It's not said with any malice, usually it's meant like "so he wants me to treat him like a woman? Oh ok" but it shows how little penetration Trans 101 stuff has, let alone the concept that trans women have always been women or sex isn't binary or how it's literally impossible to know someone's gender based on appearance. As I've observed, I'm currently living in London - a progressive city of 9 million people - and you really don't notice trans people out and about all that much.

Some of the higher profile misgendering incidents on here seem to show evidence of people literally not understanding why the big scary man is demanding to be called ma'am. Even Wi Spa - the woman sounding off about the man in the changing rooms, I don't think she was so much going "I know he says he's a trans woman but he's got a penis out in front of young girls", I think it literally didn't occur to her that someone with a penis would have any argument for being in a woman's changing room; she didn't seem to quite get that man arguing about "how do you know she's not a trans woman" (although obviously she was distressed and maybe was just ignoring attempts to engage in gender politics discussion).

Morgane Oger has a similar influence. He is the one responsible for Bill C-6 and closing down rape shelters. It is common among troons to want to block puberty at the outside, but they seldom ever mention mini puberty because I simply think they don't know it exists. That is why Jazz still looks male. Sexual differentiation begins young and it will be a matter of time until Florence starts handing out blockers to infants.

His paper more or less admits that, for troons, you can't explore your gender without pharmaceuticals.

Look at Alok Vaid Menon. He considers himself non binary. He is hairy as a fucking sasquatch and wears makeup. He has had zero medical interventions.

Yet every single AFAB enby I see gets her breasts chopped off, gets her hair cut short, and goes on testosterone. CopsHateMoe is as female as can be and she wants to raise money to get a double mastectomy.

Like TiFs and TiMs fighting, AMAB and AFAB enbies truly do show that female socialization is a true bitch and the female enbies are always at the mercy of the male ones.

I am a believer in medical autonomy —people should be allowed to have the final say in whatever medical procedure they go through as long as there's standards in place to check the capacity for these people to consent to treatment.

However, medical autonomy can only exist in a scenario where the patient is well knowledgeable on medical literature detailing the complications, technicalities and outcomes of both the illness (if there's any) and the chosen treatment.

How are minors going to be capable to consent to medical intervention when their brain hasn't even fully developed yet? How are minors going to make informed decisions when critical aspects of said treatment and illness are hidden from them?

(The last point goes for the parents of these minors too —they are not being truly informed at all)

Pushing SRS/HRT as the default treatment option for Dysphoria completely ignores the fact that Dysphoria can happen alongside other mental illnesses and can even be a symptom of untreated mental illness in itself.

When there's literature evidencing that some cases of Dysphoria are temporary and can be easily medicated away, it becomes unethical to not disclosure this information to the patient.

Hell, I find unethical that the WPATH doesn't clearly disclosures the fact that the evidence proving that HRT/SRS improves mental health is flimsy at best.

Troons are dead set in poisoning the well of medical standards and research on Dysphoria. If this doesn't show their contempt for Dysphoric people then I don't know what it does.

WPATH published the seminal paper that got the ICD to remove transgenderism as a mental illness - but not fully. Destigmatizing it completely means no state funds for free hormones, otherwise, you'd pay for it out of pocket. Like us 'cis' women do when we want surgery.

However, if any woman says she wants to be a man, she gets all of those things - insurance coverage included.
