Eh, it's complicated. There are plenty of different views on it - some people call it a crime against humanity and a guy I know will swear up and down that the whole thing was a Freemasonic plot to destroy Catholicism in Japan, if that gives you any indication about how strongly some people feel about it.
My take on it is that it was a case of using evil to do good. While civilians in Nagasaki and Hiroshima would
definitely have died if we launched a ground invasion, that doesn't make it morally acceptable to kill those civilians by another method. This is, like it or not, a problem with warfare; it's almost impossible to wage war today without committing some sort of moral evil, but countries still need to be able to defend themselves.
The Rittenhouse trial is going on and it looks like common sense will prevail and Kenosha Kyle will be found not guilty. What does the BBC put on its front page?
