The argument I would have give. Several years ago is that, in the schitzos case, the delusions can cause them to hurt someone else. In trans cases, the delusions can only hurt/affect them.
Of course now that trans rights equals “house me with women no I don’t have to do a psych eval, suggesting so is literal violence” those delusions are affecting other people.

I think it's simpler than that. These were young men on the Internet, most of us were anti-SJW. They probably weren't actually alt-right (well, some were) but they love to play up their transition.

Both of these cases are perfect examples of this being a game to girls, then the consequences give them a surprised pikachu face. Then they want everyone to emotionally labour, coddle, and support them when it's a problem completely fabricated by them.

Trannies generally want both the privileges of being male and being female, the thing is that male privilege basically relies on you having certain primarily male traits (being physically large/strong, being assertive; woman can have these traits and men can lack them but they usually correspond to gender) and aren't formally tied to being male while a lot of female privilege is formally tied to being female. This means that intruding into female spaces will always seem a lot more jarring and require a lot more conscious effort.

For certain values of "reliably", but it's really more of an age thing than a political thing. I have a younger cousin who is super conservative and is pretty hooked into Republican politics (she even organized a TPUSA stunt that got national attention). As you might imagine I don't like her, so my grandfather tried to convince me to spend more time with her. His rationale? "She dyes her hair crazy colors"

Oh yeah, I believe that. I'm just saying that the fact that a real man without any sort of condition or surgery or HRT can so easily pass as a TiF just by being ugly and wearing a suit that is too large for him shows that a TiF could easily pass as that kind of man.

An ugly woman would, at an absolute minimum, need to slather herself with makeup in order to pass as the top 1% of TiMs

You can add mass, but you can't really subtract it without major surgery, and even then, your results may vary.

Wired has (or had, I haven't checked) a video with a woman from the CIA talking about how to disguise a spy, and she literally said you can make a woman look like a man, but can't make a man look like a woman pretty much entirely because men are just that much bigger.

I honestly believe the "support" depends on the individual when it comes to trannies. Most of these right wingers believe that "god made you a male/female" and are against transgenderism because it "goes against God". On the other hand, some bible thumping narcissistic conservatives who selfishly put their own idea of God before their own spouses and children will troon out their kids who are gender nonconforming and or may be LGB because heaven forbid they "choose" to live the life of a "sinner" who'll go to "hell". God comes first when a child has a natural sexuality but trooning them out to fit a sexist stereotype and damaging them first is what God would want!

Unsurprisingly, fundamentalists practivioners such as die hard Evangelicals and bigoted Presbyterians share a lot of similarities with the troon cult and their dogma.
