It's 2024 and we are experiencing late stage YouTube. The economical situation of the United States and the world at large is forcing the largest companies to make sudden and drastic decisions to try and keep their income higher than their operating expenses, whereas in the past it seemed even the largest companies were happy to operate at a loss or with no profit for years. YouTube in particular had been terminally unprofitable for years, and it seems that pajeet CEOs are calling it: make some fucking money.

YouTube is experimenting with a Final Solution to the Adblocker problem, similar to Twitch, where they inject ads directly into the bitstreams that make up a video, so that an ad is technologically indistinguishable from the content you've requested.

I believe, therefore, that I should remind people that the only thing they truly have is whatever they personally own. In this context, I am referring to downloading copies of videos. I wrote a guide to this here:

Quick rundown of the Dick, Riley, and Eric July drama. As succinct as this shit gets. I've never featured this before because Dick is basically a gigantic attention whore, but it's coming to a head now, and not how he wants it.

Dax Herrera p/k/a Dick Masterson operates two podcasts: The Dick Show by himself with Sean the audio engineer, and The Biggest Problem in the Universe, a reboot of a show by the same name he cohosted with Maddox, but now operates with Christopher Vito Gesualdi, a pedophile.

Riley Mix is Dax's producer for The Dick Show. Riley is like Ethan Ralph if he was shorter and fatter and had a smaller dick. Riley's relationship with Dax is a complete mystery to all who behold it, because Riley is nothing but a continuous source of embarrassment for the show. Below is a video of Ethan Ralph and Riley fighting. You can see Riley is shorter. Their gunts kiss and it's very cute.


The Dick Show needs an enemy to function as a podcast. Dick picked a guy named Eric July, who is a black Texan comic book artist who successfully bootstrapped ISOM, a comic book about a black guy super hero. Dax's obsession with Eric July is a mystery to all, but there is an ongoing feud between them.

ISOM is named after an ancestor of Eric's, and Riley went to Isom's grave to piss on it. He also went to Eric's corporate office to try and fuck with him in real life. Nobody was there and he was instructed not to return and to stop harassing Eric.

Fast forward months later, Eric is at a convention for comic books. Riley and his girlfriend Mint Salad (Marie Hintsala) show up to protest it and hassle guests. They are instructed by management to leave, and do not, so police are called. He is arrested for trespass and stalking.



Dax has tried to spin this as a big win over Eric. The libertarian comic book man called the pigs! Unfortunately for him, Riley is truly, genuinely disgusting, and few people will fault anyone for calling police on him. This also has the unintended consequence of bringing up one of Dax's truly unforgivable crimes: hooking Mint Salad and Riley up.



Mint started drawing furry porn while living with her parents, and she called into The Dick Show for advice. Her parents wanted her to choose between their home or furry porn. Dick told her to pick the furry porn. This resulted in her losing her stable, comfortable home, and ending up in Dick's possession, and was passed along to Riley. Her parents desperately tried to figure out what happened to her, because she is mentally disabled (probably about 70 IQ) and cannot navigate the real world by herself. This results in Dick calling them on air to try and fuck with them, even though they're just very desperate and sad parents. They're also adoptive parents: Mint was likely a crack baby.

Even Dick's fans weren't huge on this. Here's ex-superfan Had calling in to voice his concerns and being dismissed as a faggot. The Mint Salad drama caused serious rifts between Dick and his fans on both reddit and Facebook, which were hugely active around the time I was talking to Dick. They're graveyards now and nobody really knows how Dick is getting $30,000 with Patreon a month, considering his engagement is almost zero.



Mint Salad is now a whore. She posts weird cringe videos on X in lingerie at Riley's direction, does OnlyFans with Riley where you can see his baby dick pissing on her, and they do hard drugs together. Her social media handle is now "autistic boobs" because her entire shtick is being a young woman who wears no clothes and screams about whatever Riley says to.

In this clip, you can hear her talk, and her disability is pretty obvious. There are other stream appearances she's been on and it's just so transparent she's not all there.



It's also really obvious that Dick knows she's not all there, because his first instinct in learning that Riley has been arrested and Mint was alone was to beg people at the convention to come out and help her. She would not be able to find her way back to the hotel without them.



So now it's kind of coming to a head. Dax is spiraling hard because nobody is on his side, and his new audience is finding out that he's actually really just a bad guy and the psychopath shit he says on his shows isn't a comedy bit. He really doesn't give a fuck about anyone other than himself. He's also implicitly threatening to dox and sue anyone telling this story.



Eric July finally responded to this about as tactfully as he could. Basically says he didn't call the cops (a shot at Dax), but honestly he would have anyways because he can't let people harass his employees even if he can handle himself.

What is Windows Recall?​

On May, 20th 2024 Microsoft announced it's new Copilot+ PCs (ARCHIVE) running on ARM architecture.
"Retrace your steps with Recall Search across time to find the content you need. Then, re-engage with it. With Recall, you have an explorable timeline of your PC’s past. Just describe how you remember it and Recall will retrieve the moment you saw it. Any photo, link, or message can be a fresh point to continue from. As you use your PC, Recall takes snapshots of your screen. Snapshots are taken every five seconds while content on the screen is different from the previous snapshot. Your snapshots are then locally stored and locally analyzed on your PC. Recall’s analysis allows you to search for content, including both images and text, using natural language. Trying to remember the name of the Korean restaurant your friend Alice mentioned? Just ask Recall and it retrieves both text and visual matches for your search, automatically sorted by how closely the results match your search. Recall can even take you back to the exact location of the item you saw."

To run or use this feature, you need to have one of the new CoPilot+ PCs running on ARM. Some of them can be found here

How can I play with it if it's not released yet?​

Some smart folks released AmperageKit, which shows how you can either emulate such an ARM machine locally or spin one up on Azure. I opted for the latter.

Technical Details​

"Earlier this month, Microsoft’s CEO emailed all their staff saying “If you’re faced with the tradeoff between security and another priority, your answer is clear: Do security.”

So, do they? Not quite. Windows Recall stores everything locally in an unencrypted SQLite database, and the screenshots are simply saved in a folder on your PC. Here’s where you can find them:

The images are all stored in the following subfolder

The database, ukg.db, is relatively straightforward in its structure, but it holds a wealth of information.

TotalRecall​

So what does the tool do?

TotalRecall copies the databases and screenshots and then parses the database for potentially interesting artifacts. You can define dates to limit the extraction as well as search for strings (that were extracted via Recall OCR) of interest. There is no rocket science behind all this. It's very basic SQLite parsing.

How TotalRecall Works​

1. Data Extraction:
   
   • TotalRecall copies the ukg.db database and the ImageStore folder to a specified extraction folder. This ensures the original data remains intact while you explore the extracted data.
2. Database Parsing:
   
   • It parses the SQLite database to extract potentially interesting artifacts, such as window titles, timestamps, and image tokens. The tool looks for entries that match the criteria you specify (e.g., date range, search terms).
3. Screenshot Management:
   
   • TotalRecall renames the image files in the ImageStore folder with a .jpg extension if they don't already have one. This makes it easier to view and manage the screenshots.
4. Search Functionality:
   
   • You can search for specific terms within the database, leveraging the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capabilities of Windows Recall. This means you can find text that appeared on your screen, even if it was within an image.
5. Output Generation:
   
   • The tool generates a summary of the extracted data, including counts of captured windows and images taken. It also creates a detailed report in a text file, listing all the captured data and search results.

Kevin Beaumont wrote a very good article (ARCHIVE) about the Recall disaster as well with a spot-on FAQ that I will blatantly steal with his permission.

Q. The data is processed entirely locally on your laptop, right?
A. Yes! They made some smart decisions here, there’s a whole subsystem of Azure AI etc code that process on the edge.

Q. Cool, so hackers and malware can’t access it, right?
A. No, they can.

Q. But it’s encrypted.
A. When you’re logged into a PC and run software, things are decrypted for you. Encryption at rest only helps if somebody comes to your house and physically steals your laptop — that isn’t what criminal hackers do. For example, InfoStealer trojans, which automatically steal usernames and passwords, are a major problem for well over a decade — now these can just be easily modified to support Recall.

Q. But the BBC said data cannot be accessed remotely by hackers.
A. They were quoting Microsoft, but this is wrong. Data can be accessed remotely. ARCHIVE

Q. Microsoft say only that user can access the data.
A. This isn’t true, I can demonstrate another user account on the same device accessing the database.

Q. So how does it work?
A. Every few seconds, screenshots are taken. These are automatically OCR’d by Azure AI, running on your device, and written into an SQLite database in the user’s folder. This database file has a record of everything you’ve ever viewed on your PC in plain text. OCR is a process of looking an image, and extracting the letters.

A. They have tried to do a bunch of things but none of it actually works properly in the real world due to gaps you can drive a plane through.

A. No:


Q. How large is the database?
A. It compresses well, several days working is around ~90kb. You can exfiltrate several months of documents and key presses in the space of a few seconds with an average broadband connection.

Q. How fast is search?
A. On device, really fast.

Q. Have you exfiltrated your own Recall database?
A. Yes. I have automated exfiltration, and made a website where you can upload a database and instantly search it. I am deliberately holding back technical details until Microsoft ship the feature as I want to give them time to do something. I actually have a whole bunch of things to show and think the wider cyber community will have so much fun with this when generally available.. but I also think that’s really sad, as real world harm will ensue.

Q. What kind of things are in the database?
A. Everything a user has ever seen, ordered by application. Every bit of text the user has seen, with some minor exceptions (e.g. Microsoft Edge InPrivate mode is excluded, but Google Chrome isn’t). Every user interaction, e.g. minimizing a window. There is an API for user activity, and third party apps can plug in to enrich data and also view store data. It also stores all websites you visit, even if third party.

Q. If I delete an email/WhatsApp/Signal/Teams message, is it deleted from Recall?
A. No, it stays in the database indefinitely.

Q. Are auto deleting messages in messaging apps removed from Recall?
A. No, they’re scraped by Recall and available.

Q. But if a hacker gains access to run code on your PC, it’s already game over!
A. If you run something like an info stealer, at present they will automatically scrape things like credential stores. At scale, hackers scrape rather than touch every victim (because there are so many) and resell them in online marketplaces. Recall enables threat actors to automate scraping everything you’ve ever looked at within seconds. During testing this with an off the shelf infostealer, I used Microsoft Defender for Endpoint — which detected the off the shelve infostealer — but by the time the automated remediation kicked in (which took over ten minutes) my Recall data was already long gone.

Q. Does this enable mass data breaches of website?
A. Yes. The next time you see a major data breach where customer data is clearly visible in the breach, you’re going to presume company who processes the data are at fault, right? But if people have used a Windows device with Recall to access the service/app/whatever, hackers can see everything and assemble data dumps without the company who runs the service even being aware. The data is already consistently structured in the Recall database for attackers. So prepare for AI powered super breaches. Currently credential marketplaces exist where you can buy stolen passwords — soon, you will be able to buy stolen customer data from insurance companies etc as the entire code to do this has been preinstalled and enabled on Windows by Microsoft.

Q. Did Microsoft mislead the BBC about the security of Copilot?
A. Yes.

Q. Have Microsoft mislead customers about the security of Copilot?
A. Yes. For example, they describe it as an optional experience — but it is enabled by default and people can optionally disable it. That’s wordsmithing. Microsoft’s CEO referred to “screenshots” in an interview about the product, but the product itself only refers to “snapshots” — a snapshot is actually a screenshot. It’s again wordsmithing for whatever reason. Microsoft just need to be super clear about what this is, so customers can make an informed choice.

Q. Recall only applies to 1 hardware device!
A. That isn’t true. There are currently 10 Copilot+ devices available to order right now from every major manufacturer: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/copilot-plus-pcs#shop Additionally, Microsoft’s website say they are working on support for AMD and Intel chipsets. Recall is coming to Windows 11.

Q. How do I disable Recall?
A. In initial device setup for compatible Copilot+ devices out of the box, you have to click through options to disable Recall.
In enterprise, you have to turn off Recall as it is enabled by default:

Q. What are the privacy implications? Isn’t this against GDPR?
A. I am not a privacy person or a legal person.I will say that privacy people I’ve talked to are extremely worried about the impacts on households in domestic abuse situations and such.
Obviously, from a corporate point of view organisations should absolutely consider the risk of processing customer data like this — Microsoft won’t be held responsible as the data processor, as it is done at the edge on your devices — you are responsible here.

Q. Are Microsoft a big, evil company?
A. No, that’s insanely reductive. They’re super smart people, and sometimes super smart people make mistakes. What matters is what they do with knowledge of mistakes.

Q. Is this really as harmful as you think?
A. Go to your parents house, your grandparents house etc and look at their Windows PC, look at the installed software in the past year, and try to use the device. Run some antivirus scans. There’s no way this implementation doesn’t end in tears — there’s a reason there’s a trillion dollar security industry, and that most problems revolve around malware and endpoints.

Q. What should Microsoft do?
A. In my opinion — they should recall Recall and rework it to be the feature it deserves to be, delivered at a later date. They also need to review the internal decision making that led to this situation, as this kind of thing should not happen.

Hormones for Children Charity​

Two months ago in his video entitled "I Got Doxxed.", F1nn5ter revealed his intent to create a non-profit alternative to GenderGP, a for profit organisation which provides hormones replacement therapy to minors. GenderGP recently changed their sign up method, adding a cost to even chat with personnel, and have potentially started using AI or untrained personel to interpret blood tests. This caused many affected trannies to message F1nn telling him not to donate to GenderGP again. F1nn responded, getting involved in a bit of drama with GenderGP. Since he promised another $50,000 towards GenderGP, he instead decided to start his own "charity" to help children get access to puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy.
In regards to his new "charity", he says he "found some good people to do it with", curiously showing a stock photo of many prisoners in orange jumpsuits at the same time. I have no clue what he intended that image to imply, but it can't be good. If anyone can decipher that, please let me know.
F1nn5ter says he has to keep everything about this secret for the near future. He is trying to get in contact with more European doctors to help, but says he already has enough support to act as an "estrogen provider" in the future and is beginning trials "really soon".

Yesterday, he started seething over the UK banning the usage of puberty blockers as a "treatment" for gender dysphoria in minors. He can't put together why the UK government would not ban them outright, and seems to not understand that the original purpose of puberty blockers was to treat precocious puberty, a rare condition where puberty begins before 8 in girls or 9 in boys. Initial research on puberty blockers only investigated using them for short periods of time, completely discontinuing use at the age of 8 or 9, which is where the studies calling them "reversible" mainly come from. (As a side note, there is also a more recent study (A) some troons cite that was done on rats, again, for very short periods of time). When used into teenage years, the recent Cass Review concluded are not reversible, which is something most people could have predicted with the smallest amount of thought.
Note that the 2024 No. 727 bill only bans GnRH analogues, so sadly, unless these have already been banned, minors could still be prescribed cross-sex hormones which act as a puberty blocker by themselves if taken at high enough dosages. Also it doesn't seem to impact any of the many non-GnRH testosterone blocking chemicals which can also be used as a form of puberty blocker for TiMs.
F1nn5ter mentions the money he has gathered for the charity he is trying to start can no longer legally be used for its originally intended purpose, which was providing children with puberty blockers without going through the NHS in the UK. He claims that the charity "is still doing what it is supposed to" but is also shifting gears towards suicide prevention.

AP and DDHQ are both calling for Tony Gonzales.
Brandon managed to narrow the race down to only 407 votes, but Tony still managed to win. I don't know enough about election law to know if the fact the votes were so close can trigger a recount or anything, but if they can't then at the very least Brandon managed to nearly dethrone a incumbent candidate in his first try at politics.

Zane, who runs the YouTube channel "In Praise of Shadows", covers various horror films and franchises. He's not too different from many of the other channels that review, discuss, and analyze all kinds of horror-based media. That was up until his infamous video covering the Hills Have Eyes (THHE) franchise a couple years prior. Zane attributes this video as being the catalyst that not only harmed his career and reputation as an online content creator, but also lead to the decline of his mental health due to countless alt-right trolls leaving slurs and other nasty, bigoted messages in his replies.

Now you may wonder, why did this video garner so much backlash in the first place? Well, our media savvy expert decided to propose in his video that the film's white, upper-middle-class family, who are openly racist and own a German shepherd, represent the American Imperial Machine, while the inbred, murderous, rapist cannibals are a stand in for marginalized groups, such as Native Americans, queer folks and poor people.


Unsurprisingly, longtime viewers of the channel felt very put off by this rather colorful interpretation of cannibalistic inbreds who rape and murder civilians being somewhat similar, at least on a sympathetic level, to the marginalized groups facing systemic plights and oppression. Some would simply unsubscribe, while others would leave comments either expressing their dissatisfaction with the video or some kind of nasty message. This seemingly goes on for two years, eventually leading to the release of a new video called, "Bad Conservative Horror Movies."

Seriously putting aside any political biases for a moment, the video on its own is downright atrocious. Had this merely focused on the usual low hanging fruit, such as the lame films and shows produced by PragerU or the Daily Wire, normal people wouldn't have cared. However, due to the past few years of internalizing all the hate comments and his channel underperforming, Zane decides to make this longwinded video incredibly personal, as its filled to the brim with pure bitterness and spite. Not only does he whine about the continued backlash and repercussions he's dealt with from his controversial analysis of THHE, but he goes as far as to blame Wendigoon of all people for being responsible for the continued harassment.

Before even getting into the skitzo arguments made against Wendigoon and his associates, here's some of the ridiculous points made in the prior sections leading up to it:

• Nitpicks about a horror convention he went to being terrible, especially for having Kevin Spacey (who starred in the film Seven) as one of the major guests to attend.
• Laments about how THHE video harmed him financially, as he now can barely rake in ad revenue on his video as a full time content creator.
  • He whines about receiving around $500 one month last year in YouTube ad revenue (not including roughly 1k a month in Patreon income).
  • He complains about making videos covering horror franchises he’s not interested in just to pay the bills, all while also refusing to take any sponsors.
  • He admits to being late on his rent payments.
• Focuses on arguing about more identity politic messages and allegories that can be found in other Wes Craven films.
• Literally reads off dozens of hate comments complaining about his THHE analysis.
  • Constantly tries to laugh off the comments as if he's above it all, despite admitting that they've harmed his mental health over the past couple years.
  • This goes on for a while. It's not just some cherry picked examples, he really reads through as many examples as he could find to point out how much backlash he got from his initial video.
• Rest of the video focuses on some of the more recent controversies taking place with both old and modern films, such as Late Night with the Devil getting criticized for using AI images in its film, or how an actress of the rebooted Scream franchise got removed for being pro-Palestine.

Rather than go through them all, instead imagine dozens of these comments directed at Zane. Congrats, you've just saved yourself 20-30 minutes of a grown man literally coping and seething about mean Internet comments.

Zane then dedicated over half an hour of his video to purely hating on Wendigoon and blatantly calling him alt-right. So many of the criticisms and claims made are done out of jealousy and utter resentment, such as Zane outright whining about Wendigoon being born into a wealthy family (although later losing this wealth due to his grandfather getting caught for having ties to organized crime), whereas he grew up poor. Therefore, as a rich guy, he lacks perspective when it comes to analyzing and critiquing (horror) media. Or how all white people who live in a given region of the country are inherently racist, and that guys like Wendigoon should explicitly not be allowed to show his face in public.



There's also the absurd claim put forth that because Wendigoon previously used "Boogaloo Boy" for a username many years ago as a teenager and that he wears Hawaiian shirts, this still makes him directly tied to the rise of the far right group "The Boogaloo Boys", who have been labeled as domestic terrorists. Despite Wendigoon outright acknowledging in the past, as shown in Zane's own video, that he wanted to not be a part of any extremist political group in an old response via Reddit, Zane believes that Wendigoon's distancing wasn't good enough.
Keep in mind that Zane says all of this while wearing a Hawaiian shirt as well throughout this whole section of his video.

Wendigoon, for his part, left a rather apologetic, yet level-headed response. He was mostly confused as for why this guy seemed to outright hate him so damn much as he doesn’t recall interacting with Zane. He was also rather upset at the misrepresentations made toward his friends being labeled as terrible people.


Speaking of, amongst the creators called out, Brandon Buckingham was arguably the most egregious. Brandon has a channel that sheds light on various communities and gives a voice to those who wish share their experiences, from the homeless living underground in Las Vegas to the folks who host yearly festivals celebrating Shrek. He's by no means a Saint, but to call him a GunTuber who threatens other people with rape, while also showing a picture of him with his Grandfather coming home from the hospital, was downright scumbag behavior. It especially doesn't help that Sneako, the very antithesis of the BreadTube community, was the one who made the allegation of Brandon being a sexpest. Brandon plans on covering Zane's atrocious hitpiece in a response video (now included at the bottom of the post).


In addition, Zane painted Mutahar as not only being an Andrew Tate sympathizer, but also transphobic for the ugly depiction of Keffals as his thumbnail. When called out on this, Zane doubled-down on Twitter, resulting in Muta putting out his own video.

Leave it to the fine folks on r/YouTubeDrama to view Muta's direct response to Zane calling him a bad person as an attempted harassment campaign.

Zane's initial attempt at damage control was to put out a long Twitter thread explaining why he made the video, with some corrections toward the parts he got wrong, like about how he went after Brandon based off false information. He deletes the entire section going after Wendigoon and friends, and proclaims that horror is about love. However, he still lamented that people were 'focusing on the fine details he got wrong', rather than looking at the bigger picture of how Wendigoon, his associates, and his fans are all incredibly problematic for the horror community as a whole.
Oh, and he also tried to play victim, such as claiming that Brandon's insult of 'calling him a low testosterone loser' is homophobic (which nobody even knew Zane was gay to begin with).


Unsurprisingly, people didn't like his weak attempt at a retraction while still doubling-down, which lead to him soon privatng his Twitter account. He has since uploaded a Patreon community update to once again insist that he was merely trying to do a good thing by calling out who he perceives as the toxic members of the horror community.



So in summation: This loser went out of his way to blame a popular creator for his own channel doing poorly, receiving mean comments over the years, and then outright calling said creator and his friends all far-right extremists. And somehow, he was genuinely surprised that people did not take too kindly to the video upon its release, despite seemingly knowing that he’d get at least some amount of slight pushback. I'd say it's one of the strangest self-inflicted implosions I've seen in a long time, yet this all happened around the same time as Rekeita’s arrest, so... Definitely not winning in that department.

He’s retreated to his hugbox Discord server, wondering if his online career is at all salvageable, and somehow is still asserting that everyone hating on the video is too stupid to properly address any of his skitzo criticisms:

Knife-wielding madman attacks 4 girls at AMC theater, 2 others at McDonald’s in Massachusetts stabbing spree: police​

A knife-wielding madman, connected to a murder investigation, attacked four girls inside a movie theater before injuring two others at a McDonald’s during his stabbing spree on Saturday.

The unprovoked attacks began around 6 p.m. inside the AMC Braintree 10 when the armed suspect walked into the complex, past the ticket booth and entered one of the theaters without paying.

The suspect stabbed the four girls, whose ages ranged from 9 to 17, without saying a word, Braintree police said Saturday night.

The girls were rushed to Boston-area hospitals and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An AMC employee working concessions at the time of the initial stabbings described the man as wearing “an oversized trench coat, sunglasses, and a long blonde wig,” according to CBS Boston.

After fleeing from the multiplex in a black SUV, the man drove over 30 miles to Plymouth, MA., where he is believed to have been involved in another “similar assault” at a McDonald’s.

At around 7:09 p.m. Massachusetts State Troopers responded to the McDonald’s at the Rt. 3 Park and Ride in Plymouth, MA. where they discovered a 21-year-old female and a 29-year-old male suffering from apparent stab wounds.

They were also treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

“Preliminary investigation suggests a likely connection to an earlier incident at a movie theatre in Braintree resulting in non-life threatening injuries to four juveniles,” the Massachusetts State Police said.

After failing to pull over, the armed maniac led police on a car chase before crashing in Sandwich, Ma.

He was taken into custody and is currently being treated for injuries at a hospital.

The suspected attacker is also believed to be linked to a murder investigation in Deep River, Connecticut.

“At approximately 3:36 p.m., Connecticut State Police Troop F – Westbrook responded to a report of a disturbance at an address in the town of Deep River,” CSP announced.

One person was found dead at the scene and “a suspect in this investigation has been taken into custody in the State of Massachusetts and there is no active threat to the public.”

Connecticut State Police issued an alert earlier on Saturday for the suspect, describing him as “armed and dangerous” with a 10-inch knife, CBS Boston reported.
