The only stuffed animal I own that is near and dear to me is my stuffed dinosaur Dilophosaurus that I've had since I was a kid.

Still got my teddy, unironically helps me sleep better by keeping the nightmares away (aka, he is actually comfy to lean head against). Mf was built to last and he kind of "stuck around" so I just kept him. It just sort of happened.

Figured I'd share.
My dad died when I was 5 and they gave me a stuffed dog, because we bred dogs, dogs were a huge massive part of our lives, and they tied one of his old bananas around the neck. It always made him smell like my dad when I slept with him, named him Daddy Dog.
He started off soft, and shiny but over time he got that packed-together look old stuffed animals get.
He has my first silly putty from Christmas in his fur, a green streak that had a newspaper comic still stuck to it for years.
He has a bracelet on him that I made when I was 6 and when I outgrew it, I cut it off and tied it on him.
My grandma cut a small, red, velvet heart out and put a 50 cent coin inside. We triaged him, i played nurse, and my grandma even bandaged him with a piece of cotton for a few days while he 'healed' from his surgery.
I was an only child, rural as shit and my only friends were a fleabitten barn cat named Gatlin, a dog named Conway and that fucking stuffed dog.
The amount of tears cried into that brown fur should make it some kind of voodoo doll at this point.
He lives on my desk in a miniature red rider wagon and my dad's urn. My dad's urn isna cookie jar (guess our tax bracket) so most people think I just have grandma taste in decor.
