Saw this happen to a poor bastard in one of my races a few months back. With no cautions enabled, the poor guy never stood a chance, and I don't think anyone else realized the cars had brakes. Insert whatever screaming noise you imagine the driver was making over voice chat.
I do not miss the rookie races. Only have to deal with those idiots every 13 weeks, when iRacing is between seasons and everyone can race whatever car/track combo is up (the track for each car's series also changes daily instead of weekly, week 13 being for mass final testing of new content), instead of safety license rules being in effect. Those red stripes on the back of several of the cars including #15? Rookies.
And lastly, apologies in advance for the garbage quality of the gif. The source capture I had was lousy, and then getting it to fit under 2mb for imgur upload was a nightmare.
