To be frank, I'm certain every individual that Xi came into contact with was vetted by the CCP for weeks before this dog and pony show was filmed to make sure they were not sick. Every square inch of sidewalk, hospital floor, walls, everything was likely disinfected to the point that nothing remained.

They had to get him out for the public to see, but if he was suited up in Tyvek and wearing an N100 with goggles, that would throw the wrong optics to the Chinese: that this shit is very, very dangerous and very serious.

Well, considering a decent guess at that would require a reliable reckoning on just how bad this virus is, and we can't trust any of the info out of China regarding how many people are killed/sick/otherwise tied up due to this, I'm not sure anyone can really answer that question yet.

@Ivan Shatov - Well, well, well. Emperor Xi has finally deigned to visit some of his peasants. In Beijing. What the fuck. I bet his presence magically cures everyone - least the CCP will play it that way. Little late to be visiting, you pussy. He's letting the Premier go to Wuhan. Now the real interesting one will be if or when Kim Jung Un ever makes a public appearance? He cancelled the big annual Military parade that was supposed to be over the weekend. They are clouds. Smoke would be likely a different color and coming from the ground.

Unless everyone there is a party member who were immediately swept out of the country at the first cough and flown back in just for the op, this sickness has proven itself so dangerous because of the long time it takes to show symptoms and that you are contagious when you aren't showing symptoms. So no amount of vetting could totally screen people unless they were 100% confirmed to be from an area where it is 100% confirmed it hasn't spread too and even then you'd still be taking a risk.

I'd imagine he's starting to feel pressure from his cohorts that if he isn't seen more the population will become more unmanageable because they'll know he's hiding away and getting the best care while they are very sick and/or dying. Even Xi isn't that much of an idiot, he knows the world is watching alongside his own people.
