Why don't profile posts count for your post count?

I don't know how I only just noticed this but profile posts don't count for your post count. Is that just so people can't spam their profiles so they can't artificially inflate their post counts?

Probably because guest users can't see them.

It probably doesn't matter. Some of the most prolific posters give the most dog shit, up vote seeking replies.
