It's only really middle class lefties that hate her. And that's because the working class did well during her 'reign'.

Lefties are notoriously bad at history. They forget Aberfan and how the Labour party fucked over the families and basically stole money.

I'm not British but I have heard (from reading about the whole situation) that taxes were higher under Thatcher and there was mass unemployment. British people seem to have politicians decade after decade of any party that keep screwing them though. U.K wages are a joke and the cost of living/housing is high. When I read what a doctor makes in the UK I was appalled. Again, I really feel Thatcher was a scam artist who didn't make things any better, she may have made them even worse despite the narrative she pumped up the UK economy. If that were so wages would have improved.

I remember living through most of the Thatcher years.

You mention doctors wages. I worked in the NHS, their wages are good, and the pensions even better.

She had to deal with an illegal strike by the miners. Unemployment was high because the British are rather lazy (Orwell knew this in the 30s).

Um, have you heard of the Youth Enterprise Scheme? Professional leftie and talentless back stand up said that was 'one of the few things she did right', she basically gave £1000 (80s money) to young people. Alan got his start that way.

A lot of lefties in Britain got very rich off of Thatcher... But then we're very quiet about Blair. Who wasn't a Thatcherite. Just someone who knew what lies to tell.
