At some point, black men associated "book learning" with "sellout." There is actual peer pressure NOT to read.

Also, if you are a young black man trying to go to college for a STEM degree, black women will NOT fuck you. I know that is a positive on this forum, but it's hard telling a 17 year old black male that wants to go to college that his choices are virgin or white woman.

Even in "Boyz N the Hood" (yes I am using a 1991 fictional movie as fact; bite me), Tre/Cuba Gooding Jr. was basically an outsider. Yes, he got himself some Nia Long in her prime poon because it's a movie, but compare Tre to every other black male in that movie outside his father, and he's damn near an alien. Tre is only what he was because Furious/Lawrence Fishburne was also an anomoly in that movie. Meanwhile, the other big plot point in the movie is Ricky needing 700 on his SATs to get into college. Keep in mind, you get 400 for showing up.
