Ever played Spore? That's what magic man in the sky (aka God) did when he made us all. If you want to give a creature wings and make it fly it has to be small and light so sacrifices had to be made. Legend says his original design was one hole for eating/pooping and peepee but he changed it to add a dedicated eating hole at the last moment.
