The middle one sat on his butt just chilling... I love it!

I love when my husband gets really worried about our chickens. I grew up around farm animals, and I became callous to some of the small sufferings. So, when my city-boy husband gets worried about them, it's very sweet to me.

For instance, our last batch of chicks is now living outside, and it's started to get cold. I woke up to him holding a chick, telling me that it was acting strange, and it made the saddest peeps, and he was worried. So, he took it inside to warm up, and then it was lonely, so he had to hold it to keep it company.

It's just so sweet and genuine that it makes me melt. He's so cute.

Also people saying "happy birthday" to animals that are hatching.... idk, it just makes me.so happy. Like, hell yeah it's their birthday.

Are you the Kiwi with all the funky chickens? Cos I love seeing them!

at the cancer treatment unit yesterday, (long session of blood transfusions for hubby), and just watching; admiring the staff’s switched on team work and the quips flying back and forth. They effortlessly exude compassion and when they can, do their best to make things easier.

There’s a one visitor rule that was wonderfully broken yesterday. A little girl, aged 6 or so, carefully walked in with her mom, balancing a small tray of decorated baking. With help, she got the tray on the counter, (mom had the rest of the baking) and said:

“These are for helping Grampa get better. Thank you because he’s going to teach me to fish this summer.”

Onions, clearly many onions in the room following that.

This guy and his bugs. It's sweet, then absurdly funny how much effort he puts into his bugs, and then loops back around to being incredibly sweet because he clearly cares about them so much.

Also his main mantis was named Kiwi.

It takes a special kind of retard to decide one day that you're going to adopt a big wasp and treat it like a cat but it just works and I adore him for it.

Sea otters hold hands while they sleep so they don't drift apart

Pups can't swim for the first 6 months so mom carries them and wraps them in seaweed blankets

We have tons of otters in our town and they're so cute to watch! I've seen them make seaweed-blankets and sleep for like an hour, sometimes people will worry that they're dead but then the otter sneezes itself awake.
Edit: trying to attach cute otter photos
