Is Atlas Shrugged long winded? Yes.
Is there good stuff that makes you think? Yes.
Is there also parts like the main woman lead holding a man at gun point and making him beg for his life before she shoots him in cold blood? Yes and it’s absurd.
If you really want to give Rand a read try a few of her philosophical books or “We the Living.” I think everyone should try to read Atlas Shrugged but it’s a doozy.
