Aspergers is just the less severe end of autism.

It didn't used to be considered a spectrum. Everyone who pinged Autistic on tests were put in the same category regardless of if we were talking high functioning people who just want to talk about pokemon or non-verbals who flail their hands.
Asperger's is the title they gave to really high functioning ones who can be taught to pretend they are normal. Last I heard they stopped with that label though and just consider it a spectrum now where Asperger's would be the mild version.

Asperger's is much cooler and sexier than autism. Autists wear protective headgear and bag groceries, but Aspies (always capitalize the word "Aspie" as a sign of respect) are smart, creative, and high-achieving. Well-known Aspies include famous CEO's (Elon Musk), Oscar winners (Anthony Hopkins), and elite athletes (LeBron James). The Hans Asperger Foundation, the world's foremost authority on Asperger's Syndrome, recommends all persons with Asperger's to advertise said fact on their internet dating profiles as research shows that it is considered a highly attractive trait in potential partners.

So thats why my online dating life has been barren like a desert. I haven't announced to the ladies I got aspergers. I'll put it on my dating profile and be sure to get a lot of matches.

One can be found in your medical file and the other one is found in an old DSM book on some old psychologist’s book shelf.

Asperger's syndrome requires at least normal IQ and no delay in acquiring language skills in childhood, thus the subset of autists that qualify as aspies are in general smarter and more functional than most autists.
