A cure for autism would have to involve rewiring the brain, editing the DNA, and fixing digestive issues.
It's more realistic that a way to detect autism during pregnancy will be found, which could mean an increase in abortions.*

Just spitballing here, but it may be possible with a 2 drug combo. Something to block the effects of autism by altering gene expression, and something else to radically increase neuroplasticity to the point of near brainwashing. Then they would have to be retrained on how to human for months. A VR helmet could help.
Side effects would include terminal brain cancer.

I'd joke about the tisms but I don't even know what it means anymore since every neurotic person thinks they have the tism these days.
Outside of society falling apart and humanity returning to a simpler time, the only way to address it is to address the byproducts of sensory overprocessing, which involves remaining in good health, getting exercise, and consuming a lot of antioxidants.
That's a pretty froo froo article, but they're right in their basic assessment. There are many more dense academic articles from within the last few years that say exactly the same thing, just search google. The brain isn't necessarily malformed, it's an issue of immune function.
Virtually every antioxidant substance, ranging from N-acetylcysteine (which shows very consistent benefit) to turmeric to omega-3s have been shown to have positive effects on the symptoms of not only autism (such as increases in emotional communication and reduction in aggression), but in all OCD-adjacent disordered behavior, including stuff like tourettes.
At this point it is obvious it's related to inflammation and oxidative stress, which is why the rate of diagnosis keeps rising; as the intellectual strain of the world keeps getting greater, the level of toxic neurophysical byproducts do too, and we need to target and address them.
But it seems like people are faggots, so the second you suggest that stuff like OTC supplementation and dietary intervention can be of major benefit to anxious/depressive/OCD/ASD symptoms, they turn their noses up.
If tomorrow the FDA succeeded restricting something like NAC to prescription only and marketed it to treat autism, these same dumb fuckers would be sucking it down like $5 whores and singing its praises. Fuckers deserve their fate.

On the serious side though, antipsychotics are used pretty often to stabilize autists, at least to some effect. Of course, one of the side effects these is weight gain, so if you don't want to risk giving your special snowflake a gunt, you could either find some other solution that doesn't involve drugging them up or learn to handle a child that will appear criminally insane to any and all bystanders when you take them anywhere.
