Okay, let's entertain this beyond "Shit himself and do nothing"/"Chris is incompetent and no craft he even took part in manufacturing would be seaworthy".
Bob Chandler attends Auburn and decides, after a wonderful Spring Break in Galveston, to dedicate himself to the ancient trade of the shipwright as his ancestors once did. He opens up a small company in Greene County because the land is cheap there, meets a woman named Barbara, who gives him a son named Christopher -they later change his name to Christian. Bob retires comfortably and then passes away. Chris takes over, but is dependent entirely on his father's models which are now being rendered obsolete by fancier fiberglass jobs -rednecks could get by with wooden rowboats, but apparently they think the Bass won't respect them without twin yamahas. Chris gets uncomfortable with the decision-making process and sells the company to his top engineer who actually brings the company into the 21st century.
