I never watched it, but I heard the recent version of this franchise was actually average, albeit not as good as the classics or the 2003 stuff. This just feels like a step down from all of that, IMHO... Then again, I only ever played the games (the old ones), so I never had much attachment to this as some of you guys likely do (or did). Either way, I see this being as well received as the recent Spidey cartoons (on Disney XD...): not very well, save for maybe the target audience (provided they don't catch on to being talked down to, that is.....).

I once said to someone who asked "Why can't we have something different?" about animation, "If we did get something really different, you'd hate it." He said I was full of shit.

The designs aren't my cup of tea - I'm not speaking for everyone else. I'm sure someone out there loves these, even if that Splinter design is quite questionable.

Yeesh, I don't mind the designs for the Turtles and April I can take or leave. But Splinter reminds me of this:
I'll give them that it isn't the "CalArts" or "Family Guy" style most modern shows seem to ape these days.

the turtles are fine but splinter looks like crap and the team dynamic isn't the same anymore. leo has always been the lead for me.
