While we're talking about the Phineas and Ferb revival, Disney actually released an original animated show last week.

Honestly it's missing edge. Mario Strikers had nore bite than this. Also there's one girl who's a Stocking Anarchy clone.
They just gave up and outsourced their fake anime to France but all the character designs are still "modern audiences" friendly.
What's even the point?

fitting, considering it's possible "inspiration"

I'd rather watch the gameoverse pilot 500 times before watching 5 seconds of chimptopia and I think that gameoverse is awful. Art looks below amateur, premise is generic, the fact they're asking for money is insulting.

They claim to be an edgy alternative but they can't even violently beat Gobbles to death, they have to add cartoony stars.

Worth noting that the creator of the show is a brown groyper.

Yeah was gonna say while in isolation it's funny seeing Gobbles getting hatecrime'd in real time, this shit comes off very spiteful and seeing them ask for money for a generic "adult" sitcom is very lame. And to know it's made by a Spic Fuentes supporter makes me not want to know whatever dreck this show has to offer if any.

They didn't even beat gobbles up in a funny way.

They did it behind a tree without blood with cartoony stars. They're claiming they're the edgy alternative, but at this point even gameoverse had onscreen death in its teaser.

animatedmau keeps on persisting for a studio to pick up his show Other Side (a series that doesn't have a pilot but only 2 videos peddling furfag plushies, and smut art from it's creator that has long been removed) hopefully this doesn't get made because this is just mexican zoophobia

I keep seeing nobodies e-begging glitch to give them infinite money and it's so pathetic.

Gives the same energy as that time hello neighbor devs (publisher?) kept asking MatPat to make a game theory for them.

The only thing I liked from Evolution was the integration of William and Aelita's mother
I personally liked the idea of giving Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi the ability to deactivate Towers. It allowed for more story options other than getting Aelita to the Tower every week.
I'm dreading that we'll have another Samurai Jack situation on our hands.
Either that, or they take a page from Sword Art Online.

If Ted Lasso doesn't show up to coach the team, I'm out.

Didn't watch Evolution, is this in continuity with that? And how did XANA come back?

Anyway, keep it animated and make Jim a lyoko warrior and I might be interested.
If I remember correctly, XANA escaped via the Internet

Evolution is getting retconned and isn't part of this new continuation's canon.

Latest update on toddler & me reviews.

My daughter has asked for "different movie," so I did a crazy pull of all the animated films I thought she may like.

She... by deftly stating, "Different movie?" skipped on

The Land Before Time (1988 )
Wolfwalkers (2020)
Kung Fu Panda (2008 )

and settled on watching the whole of

Monsters Inc. (2001)

She sat through the whole film. But like Ice Age it features a funny baby. There are also simple objects she can point out and cartoon gags for mom & dad to laugh at. But... man, Lasseter Pixar is quite popular with her.

Interesting...

I really despise the place indie animation is in right now

This merch first ethos and everything being trauma dump nostalgia bait manchild bullshit really sucks

KND had a weird premise.

One thing they did great, that it is a unicorn by today's standards, is that was a show 100% designed to make kids happy first. It’s sad how rare that has become. It was made to make preteen kids feel like cool spies.

Nowadays, you have people like Rebecca Sugar whose main interest is pushing her politics, and never cared about kids that much.

However, its premise was also its Achilles heel. Kids don't remain below 13 that long. And in that show, only preteens are the cool kid heroes. It's a show whose core audience outgrows fast. Certainly some teenagers watched it, but the show made sure to make crystal clear they were now excluded from the club.

It actively guilt trips kids for being too old. We are talking 13-14 year old kids.

Ben 10 had the right idea of aging its main character with the audience, from kid to adulthood. Ben was a superhero.

As good as it was, It had its time and I can see why the network passed on doing a sequel.

Its amazing to me how almost every Indie animation ive recently seen except possibly Costco Fahrenheit has been such uninspired samey muddled garbage, how many of these people aspire and develop skills to be animators, actually make animations and then the fullest extent of their creative output is literally the same boring cringeworthy nonesense. Even mainstream animation has the exact same issue but compounded by {{{nepotism}}} and in group out-of-touch Gen Xers and millennials distilling their political sperging from twitter into media productions. The worst part of it all is that its propped up by a festering mass of maladjusted adults happily consuming and promoting this absolute slop made by other maladjusted adults creating this horrific ouroboros of worsening products, It will only get worse too, I think its emblematic of how much of a dead end our culture is in right now, I'm just wondering when it will just die already so something new with some vitality can grow.

Enough with Indie Animation. It's a dry topic as much as indie gaming.

What are your favorite western animations ever put to film/air?

Mine is Treasure Planet when it comes to Disney. They fucked it over so hard, but it was a beautiful blend of CGI and 2D animation. The positive theme of manhood and finding a father figure still hit hard as Hell.

Speaking as someone that was in the show's target demographic when it was airing, I never got this impression, but that's because I had cousins that were teens around that time and they were selfish jerks kinda like the teens in the show. I didn't think "They're saying I'm going to end up like that," I thought "I hope I'm not that lame when I'm a teenager." I can't speak for other people that were kids at the time, but I'm sure a lot of kids with teen siblings or cousins felt about the same way.

The problem is that so few people actually know how to try and make something worth watching. You can capture the spirit of the cartoons you loved as a kid, but what are you going to do with it? I think people rely too much on the "write what you know" train of thought, we should start writing things we don't know. The other part of the problem is that people are too focused on seeing themselves reflected in things, which quickly devolves into narcissistic garbage like all the TV shows and movies you see about Asian-Americans struggling with being Asians and Americans and the worst thing that can happen is a white guy walking up to you and yelling "Konnichiwa, dude!" when you're KOREAN but it's ok because you were cast as a diversity hire to voice the main character of Yakuza (a Japanese man) right as he started getting phased out of the series. I guess what I'm really saying is, all these animators need a tard wrangler (director) and a writer who knows how to write so that they aren't churning out animations that are total neuron death to watch.
