Ah yes, the infamous smoke break scene that was omitted from television broadcast programming like Cartoon Network or ABC/CBS.

I liked the Ralph & Sam cartoons because of their dynamic of being blue collar workers. I wish they made more like they did with Bugs Bunny/Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny/Daffy Duck, even Tweety Bird/Sylvester the Cat.

Notice how Ralph the Wolf looks like Wil E. Coyote. He basically IS but Chuck Jones wanted to change the hunter and prey shtick by having his adversary be stationary.

Yeah but I'd say here it works to its advantage as it's meant to be a sort of drug trip like experience, so the wobbly meshed shit you'd see from AI gens makes it a lot more lucid in practice.
Obviously this isn't practical when it comes to general use, but time will tell when AI assisted animation will help democratize it for a wider audience of creatives.
 
I'm gonna say this much for AI artwork; I've played around with Suno and liked what I've made, and I've generated images and liked what I've made, but neither of them are perfect interpretations of what was in my head. If I want finer control over what I make, I have to create the thing myself. It won't look or sound as nice (since the AI scrapes better artists than I'll ever be) but it'll be closer to what was in my head, and I'll be better off for having put the effort in and learned a skill.

AI is fun for memes and such, and once in a while someone makes something pretty cool (like Skyebrows' music videos, for instance,) but the vast majority of people making AI art really would be better off in the long run actually learning to make art themselves. As far as the animation world goes, I still think it'd be a good tool for the shit that we just outsource to Koreans anyway like backgrounds and inbetweens. The better the tech gets, and the more non-copyrighted data we have to train the AIs on, the less of an issue I think it'll be overall. If you train an AI off your own art and have it generate more, that's not stealing, and if it gets to a point there aren't any obvious errors that break immersion, then that's not a problem either. Any complaints after that are just luddite "fire bad technology is the devil" type shit.

It's funny, cause Pride even among animation has been really downgraded. I've checked the YouTube pages for nickelodeon, cartoon network, and all of disney, not one logo change or pride themed compilation. Compared to that one year disney animation was pushing owl house and it's gay witches like it was the next fantasia.

That being said it's only the second of the month, a lot changes in a week or two.

Don't get too excited. I feel like some people are thinking that the left is putting the woke away, there not, it's just sleeping.
 
On a lighter note, although this is more gaming news than animation the classic toy story snes/gen ps1, and Gameboy games plus a bugs life ps1, AND toy story 3 the video game are coming back this October.

OK this may have been prompted by toy story 5 and if it was I will say that is probably the ONE good thing that movie ever did, since the collection also includes buzz lightyear of star command the first time in years Disney's ever acknowledged that game let alone that series, And the kicker? Digital eclipse is handling the collection not limited run. Probably why we got production art and interviews with the og devs. With limited run you're lucky to get adadvertisementsbox art, and manual pngs as "bonus material."
