I think it's a problem with all media in general but they tend to shift in quality depending on culture and time period. Some media will go through stages of cool uncool constantly while some will always be high or low quality. Helluva Boss seems like one of those, was probably really cool and edgy for 2013 standards but now it's generic tripe with the constant gayness, sex jokes and casual edge. And considering vivziepop being a tumblrite retard, I'm sure the shows going to age like milk. I had that experience when I read the boys for the first time couple days ago, its really lame now but considering it's subject matter and humor I bet it came out in 2004-06 cause this would've been so cool and edgy back then with the religious conservatism neocon shit making all the nihilistic self aware mindless gore really edgy. Now it comes across as something a 15 year old would write, someone trying to construct "ironic meta parody commentary" on the superhero genre by making everyone behave like petulant highschoolers and sex offenders, homelander especially, guy acts like a jock from an early 2000s movie with 70 iq.
Vivzipop and her body of work may be the best argument I have seen since John K on why the suits are necessary to make an artistic effort not be shit. I dont mean that getting a S&P rep could have turned things around but the lack of experience of the crew involved shows in how aimless the whole thing is, specially with its characters. Take away the 2edgy4you work of paint and you are left with a show that would have been laughed out of the building in its first pitch funded on Patreon bucks. No one outside of furries and aging emos actually likes this as is, rather the idea of sticking it to the industry we in this thread love to hate.
