Between this and regular show lost tapes, it's a shame gumball Watterson couldn't redeem himself the same way. Least AT did

I am liking the vibe of Side quests, which is the fact that they are making Adventure Time without all the millennialisms.

I don’t know why manchildren are so adamant in “claiming it”, and make it about being in your 30s (see Fionna and Cake) , because in my opinion it should be a show that should make children happy first and foremost.

AT's audience was mainly teens to 20s when airing back in 2010. It has been 16 years, so many are now in their 30s-40s and relating to the adult problems.

It is a kids show, but sort of like Avatar or the DCAU of old, the audience was typically older than the Y7 demographic attached to the series. It is a pretty big reason why the show evolved so much into the more adult content.

I was watching some Ed Edd ‘n’ Eddy this afternoon, and thought to myself that the effect wasn’t the same without it being piped through a 13” CRT where the speakers have no mids.
Ed, Edd n' Eddy, that cartoon takes me back. It was one of the few cartoons I was forbidden to watch for a time since the adults thought it was "stupid."

Obviously, that was the charm from it. You could tell that Danny Antonucci took inspiration from squash-and-stretch cartoons back then. Thanks to it being a cartoon, you could have them do whatever, however, whenever you want.

That and the plot being eerily close to reboot where the characters save game worlds from getting "deleted " when the game heroes win basically borders on being a ripoff of how sectors in reboot got nullified.
I tried to watch the pilot and got bored and confused a few minutes in and stopped. Maybe I'm just retarded, idk. Why do game worlds get deleted when the heroes win?? That doesn't even make any sense, aren't the heroes of games usually fighting for a better world to live in?

It's basically a poor man's ReBoot, only ReBoot took time to explain how the User winning would affect Mainframe.

Oh my god it IS, even the cube is from ReBoot! I still don't understand why the area is destroyed if the user wins, do video games stop existing when you've beaten them once? If it's more of a metaphorical destruction, like congrats now all the Mainframe people are NPCs for whatever video game and you can't recover their original personality, THAT might make sense. I don't want to watch a CGI show from 2001 to figure out this stupid plot. 😭

ngl I def remembered WARNING INCOMING GAME but yeah I thought it was more of a "because we have to" thing than "otherwise our loved ones become zombies"
seems like it would make more sense if the user beats the game it just restarts to its initial form
which could still have a lot of room for angst but not quite the same

I'm guessing maybe in both the idea was if the hero wins the game "resets" to a new game and everyone becomes completely different then who they were in the original save file, but reboot kinda had the excuses in that it was one of the first shows to dabble woth this idea and hadn't filled out the holes in the writing back in 95 (aired 95 ran to 01)

Its 30 frigging years since then gameoverse has no excuse to not convey this better. I really shouldn't have to be the one playing editor/English teacher and tell the s called professionals at glitch, "define your terms"

C...and that's a very generous solid C nether plus or minus just barley a passing 70

To me, the games worked because they were treated as a force of nature meant to complicate the story. Megabyte was the biggest threat, not the games.

The best parts from Phineas & Ferb aren't the musical numbers, the inventions the two brothers make, but when their pet platypus goes undercover as a secret agent against some German doofus scientist.

The artstyle and animation are really good.
Finn not being voiced by Jeremy Shada is gonna take some getting used to, though.

Dammit indies, they should leave Reboot alone! It was raped already by that live-action show! As for the game thing, IIRC, if the user won, the sprites used for the game were permanently lost, presumably becoming part of the game or something like that. There was an OS world in one episode where the user always won and it was warped and decaying. I'm not sure what exactly was the reasoning behind this, something about limited memory allocation back then, I guess.
