Also, that video is almost 20 years old, holy shit.
I am from... before that time...

But nah, back when I was paying closer attention to the state of fandom, it was always a common theory. GOOs can melt your mind, give a cult guy powers or cause an earthquake just fine while they're sleeping/trapped, but it'll be much worse when the stars align.

The best part about Lovecraft is that nothing makes sense. There are infinite reasons that cthulhu could have chosen to vaporise himself in response to the boat, having nothing to do with any damage the boat was going to cause to him. August Derleth and reddit powerscalers have done irreparable damage to the cthulhu mythos because they have everything organized nice and neatly with feats and family trees and shit, which is something Lovecraft explicitly avoided. The Cthulhu RPGs didn't help either because they essentially gave everything in the mythos a statline and HP.

The soundtrack would be pretty great if it didn't have all these gay sfx added in. Or at least use them when it's appropriate. Gets old hearing a door knock effect every 10 seconds for 15 minutes

The first part of that was awesome. Kind of a reverse Psychosis where the narrator knows he's crazy and knows how to cope with it but can't quite discern how strange things may or may not actually be, vs a guy who isn't crazy and is actually in a bizarre situation convincing himself something's wrong with him rather than things being weird. Unfortunately by the end it goes full My Job is Watching a Woman Trapped in a Room where it's mostly coherent on its own but not obviously part of a series/expanded universe and really suffers for it if you aren't familiar with the rest of the content. It's definitely a lot better than Watching a Woman but it totally loses its initial hook by the end

Saw a reddit fag crying that wendigoon likes rorschach and that he has no "media literacy"
Great fan base.

Edit: here's the thread if you want to get pissed off
Redditors arguing against about someone not having standards is the pot calling the kettle Nigger. Their argument boils down to Rorschach having conflicts in his morality (some of which are ridiculous, there's a difference between nuking an enemy country in a war, and killing random people hoping for a chain of events that might create a temporary break in the cold war). But everyone have their contradictions, and considering Rorschach lives a hard life and dies for his beliefs, the contradictions only humanize him further and he still ends up having more principles than any other character in the comic.

Predditors love flipping between death of the author and media literacy to win arguments. And, no shit, Commie Snake God worshipper Moore tried writing Rorschach as the most vile Objectivist hero he could envision, but in a classic case of "evil cannot comprehend good" sane people still love Rorschach despite his faults because he acts in an admirable way.

tl;dr I fucking hate Redditors.

plus he kills pedophiles

We really need to move on from Watchmen if all we're gonna do is get into the same Current Year bullshit arguments over it. That Rorshach quote is almost 20 years old and wasn't even about conservatives, it was a dig at superhero fans (not that Moore doesn't absolutely despise both either way). E: Ironically that type of superhero fan back in the day is now a left wing commie now that I think about it

E2: Thinking about it even more this story is entirely un-American and reeks of the same seething British projection that underscores a lot of Moore's works:

In a story full of bad people, the worst of the worst antagonist is a literal rags-to-riches story who takes it upon himself to change the world for the better (if even briefly), and still personally bear the consequences of his horrific act. And the next-worst person according to the book is a guy who notices the rot in society, because he himself was a victim to it. And he deals with lowlifes with the same brutality that they enact upon others, or each other. Those who make it out in the end only do so because they never held any real principles of their own, and accepted the new state of affairs as-is.
