No, I do not have any faction or tone preferences. Im only concerned with writing quality and entertainment. I did read the Infinite and the Divine and greatly enjoyed it.
Another book that I enjoyed but don't ever see anyone else mention was Warlord: Fury of the God-Machine. The main character is an experienced Princeps of a Warlord titan; the book also reveals one of Khornes lesser known qualities: the God of Blood is a fully qualified civil engineer. Who knew?

New Auspex Tactics video going over the competitive scene and what's being played right now as the first few 11th edition tournaments roll in.
Yeah, its a shit show as expected. Some of the win rates are absolutely meaningless due to being so under-represented but outside of ATC you're also going to get screwy results from shit like

"Oh, I got my ass kicked as a space wolves player and gave up early in 10th edition, now with a new edition it's my time to shine!" is a player archetype that'll be out there grinding GTs for a few weeks until they continue to lose, give up, and quit again having learned nothing. There was also similar shit with necrons at the start of 10th where people lost their minds with c'tan as if they were unkillable boogiemen that no one could do anything about, until they realized cheap mass 1 damage fire that they couldn't reduce to 0 was the way to kill them.

"the meta" just isn't worth caring about unless you're already within the top couple percent of players at this point.

If you think about it, he's the god of blood and skulls, but not the god of industrial or building collapse accidents. Berserker raging retards like the world eaters give him a bad rap. He doesn't really care how the blood flows, but he'd prefer it if it were in honorable combat. It kinda makes sense.

Considering how many chinese are crushed under buildings or indians are eaten by trains, I'd say Khorne considers these apex predators honorable warriors just like any other. Imagine the infrustracture nightmares that space indians or space chinese cook up.

Building bathrooms just to shit in the street, clearly nurgle. People going out of their way to make cinderblocks out of dirt but with a concrete shell with tin rebar is some tzeentch shit.

Explains why the Blood Pact have so many weapons: they regularly sacrifice chinks to their factory lathes.

Hive seems interesting and so does Dark Imperium. I must have been operating under the wrong assumption as I thought the Guilliman stuff was confined to scourcebook/rulebook publications. Thanks friend.
Anything by Guy Haley has been a breath of fresh air when it comes to black library writing. He has great characterization and his nurgle dark imperium work is superb. If you think of how jovial and gleeful yet unholy and vile the great unclean one in dow2 is he nails it perfectly.

If you want something less serious and more humorous read his cawl material because Cawl is the perfect counterpart to trazyn. Showy with a need for drama, totally irreverent and reckless and ocassionaly haunted by the same choices he makes on a whim. Guy Haley should infact be the only person permitted to write Cawl.

The left sees brown skin and literally cannot conceive of anything other than "oh bless my lucky stars, a NEGRO."

As someone on twitter pointed out Sigmarxism likes to paint up Salamanders as Niggermarines, complete with greenstuff dreadlocks and the like... but since they only read the tvtropes and wikipedia pages they forget the red glowing eyes.

While the chinese are clearly tzeenchian I can make a case for Indians being the paragon of Chaos Undivided.

>scammy call centers and the like for Tzeentch
>rape and excess of cow shit for slaanesh
>brown and doo doo dyssentary for Nurgle
>their constant suicides and getting crushed by trains and stuff for Khorne (who cares not from where the blood flows, only that it does)

Even izzat seems like a chaos worthy system. The entire thing is about saving face regardless of the truth or who's correct and totally fucking your underlings over the slightest bit of advantage (or not advantage at all).

If someone painted Abbadon as Indian with the Poopclaw that would be very funny.

Take any Indian juggernaut, reimagine it as a juggernaut to khorne. Keep the part where it crushes Indians beneath its giant wheels.

Someone out there has a great idea to win a golden daemon now.

They're skaven.

They randomly introduced the Tau shortly after I got into it and they just refused to elaborate, it was just some new threat from the Eastern Fringe and that's all you needed to know and people were happy
There was a lot of people mad about it (and continue to be to this day) but otherwise yes.

Bumper Hobby Update (with x-post to the mini games thread)

I have built my 1000pt “Human Defense Force” army for One Page Rules. In 40k speak, this is about Combat Patrol size.

It’s WIP. I know the list is sub optimal and has a hodge podge of plastic. There are reasons for this, but first, the photo.
1000pt HDF.jpg

So, what you’re looking at is two 10 man squads of regulars, two 10 man squads of veterans, a leader, and an “attack vehicle” (because force organization wouldn’t let bring a “battle tank”. Special weapons are dotted throughout. 2 “Drum rifles”, 1 plasma gun, 1 sniper rifle.

In 40k speak, this is …I don’t know. A commissar, 2 10 man cadian squads, 2 kreig? And maybe a hellhound? They’re not kasrkin I know that much, and the tank is a slightly smaller than a leman russ where I replaced the acid cannon with a battle cannon for wysiwyg..

Speaking of which. There’s a gun option in OPR called “Laser Rifle”, which isn’t a lasgun as those are called “rifles”. Best guess is it’s a “long-las”, but given sniper rifle is also an option, I’m not sure. It’s longer range than a lasgun and has good AP. I’m not taking it though, so not important.

I could’ve optimized the list, or done some fun things like added an extra 20 models via conscripts, but I didn’t want a skew list for an intro game.

The kits. Left, Ooh Rah in Starship Troopers colours. Bit bland so will go for colonial marine/cadian colours for the next batch. Middle, Stargrave Scavengers. Right, Stargrave Mercenaries, and back, WGA Cannon Fodder. And the tank is a Bolt Action Panther 4 or King Tiger, I forget. I do have an Airfix Challenger tank to go in its place, but I’ve misplaced it. I can give opinions on the kits if anyone is interested.
(not mine, just what the challenger kit I'm using looks like)

Finally, I’m torn on a bunch of options for the leader. At the bottom you can see a cop in overalls, and Indiana Jones. I also have an armoured cop, a cat girl, a praetorian drinking some tea, a praetorian with a power sword, and the starter Infinity models.
