Amberly cutting in mid sentence with her sarcasm works so fantastic. They really did work on the audiobooks for Cain.
Her voice actress does an incredible job making her sound peeved anytime Cain's involved with a woman that isn't her which really make me wonder how much of Cain's glowing praise for Amberly's company is actually his own words or not.

Considering we see plenty of evidence of his opinion on the other women he was fucking? Probably genuine.

His entire arc with that one planetary governor's daughter is 'she's so annoying I can't stand her. The sex is great but she's still annoying. The sex isn't worth it.' so him and Amberly always felt more genuine.

Also once Amberly is more of a fixture in his life the sleeping his way around drops off massively, so you figure he's decently committed to (or terrified of) the hot Inquisitor he's railing.

Built an Ork truck and it makes me want to fucking kill myself. Ended up saying fuck it and didn't bother putting in the driver or gunner. Just cut the fuckers hand off and glued the gun in place. 6740.jpg

That's literally just doing sub-assemblies. There was probably a way to do it without having to cut the hand off and just leave it and the gun attached to the body instead, but that's how you have to handle more complicated stuff sometimes. Either simply for the sake of building it, or just making it easier to paint shit. The old "if you can't get a brush to that spot you can't see it" is bullshit when it's something like a railing blocking access that you can clearly see around, or a shield blocking access to something visible from an angle you can't paint from.

Asked someone at my game store if people would bitch at me for not having the driver or gunner and they said no, so the truck is just infested with the spirit of a particularly spiteful Gretchin

Yeah definitely no one is going to complain about that., It's not like either of them would alter the profile allowing the vehicle to fit somewhere it otherwise wouldn't. And if someone does raise a stink about it and you don't want to just immediately tell them to shut the fuck up "they're in sub-assemblies waiting for their paintjobs to be finished" and that'll end it.

Why do I feel theres more to this story, than just "GW goin aftah da poor innocent modders"

They do this every edition launch. It's one of their biggest cash printing times, so they clamp down on whatever they can to try and funnel more income into their starting edition products.

"But pro players" is also just pure cope. Most of them practice on actual tables so they can get faster at playing the actual game. I'm kinda sick of hearing about TTS in general. Maybe it's "gatekeeping" but it pisses me off to see the constant whining TTS people do about not feeling "welcome" in discussion about the hobby. Yeah dude, you're eliminating 90% of what makes this hobby enjoyable and relatable to sperg about one of the least interesting aspects of it: min maxing the actual game.

On the one hand, I can see how being able to interact with the models and the game beforehand can be a good entry point for many.

On the other hand, it was kinda obviously skirting the line for copyright (regardless of anyones opinion on how gay copyright is)

Oh it has benefits for sure, I'm mainly just bitching about the small community of nomodel whiners who throw a fit whenever GW slaps TTS (which is a fools errand anyway I don't know why they bother) or when people rightfully put it in the kiddy corner for being gay.

I flat out don't think people who play 40k TTS are actually playing 40k. Yeah the rules are there, yeah it's "simulating it", but they will never truly be playing the game because they lack the soul of it (building and painting models).

The most excuses I saw from the TTS crowd always as follows:
1. GW big meanie muh dun wanna give em money
2. 40k stuff is expensive to buy and muh dun have time to assemble/paint 'em
3. There might not be any stores in my area to play with
4. There is a store, but me no to meet randos face to face.

TTS is nice if you have struggles with the local crowd and/or inability to go to irl games but the discords and groups get pretty smug about the closest thing to piracy besides 3rd party recasters or scans. No shit they take down model scans and/or DoW rips but you can or could already save most of those locally. They were utterly retarded to keep the newest version on the workshop only just unlisted, the previous versions were hosted on github and locally available, I think the AoS one still works like that. Same with the tables.

The TTS thing is the same reason they go after websites, telegram channels, etc. hosting files. They have to at least occasionally act like they're defending their IP or they can lose their trademark and copyrights on shit. It's that simple.

Someone else will re-host the shit in a week or two for TTS, if not just post the crap off-site from Steam anyway which is something that's been done in the past.

edit: Sunflower Samurai beat me to it. Yeah, the shit was on github and elsewhere for ages. Hosting it on the steam workshop was just for lazy people.

edit again: Also, wasn't the hutber guy advertising his shit all over reddit? Yeah that's a real smart way to avoid the attention of GW.
