'What will the Imperium do with us once the crusade is done???' was already retarded because these dumbfucks were already fighting orks and eldar and shit. Who do you think was gonna be out there killing xenos and suppressing revolt just like they already were?
None of those would have been a threat to a unified Imperium with psychic potential and ability to get out of the technological stasis. Eventually the Astartes would have run out of planets to conquer and then humanity is stuck with millions of roided out super warriors stuck doing garrison duties.
Yeah, I think the Emprah planned for most of the Primarchs to be Old Yeller'd once the Crusade was over, as many of those were too unstable/stupid/evil/stupidly evil to live in peaceful times. At worst, you can shove some marines in cryofreezers until you need them once again.
He literally kept his gene flaw from everyone except his innermost circle of Blood Angels and Big E (who likely knew on his own). The Black Rage is literally a manifestation of a fraction of Sanguinius' own depths of psychotic rage. Its why Khorne wanted Sanguinius first, because he knew turning Sanguinius would've been even easier than Angron. Angron at least has the excuse that he's got nails in his brain, Sanguinius was just that nigga.
Its also stated that he was the most loved of the Primarchs, and definitely a fit for Warmaster. As it's written it would make more sense to me that Sanguinius should've been Warmaster, but as someone said the story is called the *Horus* Heresy.
Then again Horus Rising kind of sucked shit for an intro novel to an 80+ book series.

And considering how he went out of his way to keep it hidden, would have avoided situations where it could manifest(which is what finally happened on... cygnus something? The system they were in before they met up with Guilliman and The Lion. Of course after that he became Sanguidiot and got his head up his ass at the first whiff of non raging chaos influence and thought he was literally the savior of the galaxy for a moment when he fell for the trap on and the way to Davin.
And yeah, you really can't expect much out of an 80s cartoon villain level plot later on strung out into novel after novel trying to backfill "logical" reasons for why shit is the way it is.

Somehow I don't think Emps expected the guy whose geneseed would be used for the goddamn Revenants of all Legions to wind up one of the chillest of all his siblings.
The other day when seeing different Horus Heresy retardation i got reminded of the Dornian Heresy fanfiction, its pretty neat, you can tell it was written just before the HH turned into a 60+ book clusterfuck 2010 (!) even if pseudo Tau Ultras and Necron Iron Hands are a bit retarded

My point is that he's no Rogal "poop vault" Dorn. Fear to Tread IS Sanguinius' best showing and I will not be convinced otherwise. Also that Dawn of Fire is a better series of novels exploring whats happening and why than Horus Heresy. I just finished Silent King which was a huge letdown as a Necron enjoyer but was otherwise super good at proving that people that say Guilliman's return was too hopeful for the 41st Millennia are retarded, but I digress.
Just got into Dark Imperium, finished the first yesterday and Im like a 1/3 through the second book. Very solid, and also a good set of novels so far for Chaos Demons. I cant fathom why GW hasnt explored a CD focused novel before.
yeah you can tell they were reaching with those, but reading a take on still gigachad Horus and a complacent more terror than torture based Cruze is interesting
Oddly enough, when I painted Bolt Action I ran into that problem. History nerds are very particular about what shade of gray or green uniforms are. Different straps, webbing, weapons, boots, all has to be the right colour.
I'd go with the Ooh Rah. Also if you/someone you know have a 3D printer, they made STLs to flesh out their Death Fields ranges and the Ooh Rah have snipers and armored elites if you want to go all in on them.
I didn't know about them. Sadly, no 3D printer for me. Supposedly a friend of a friend has one, but we've not met. I'd likely grab either some official OPR minis, or some StationForge, or just go wild with stuff. There's some Bubblegum Crisis stuff I'd like to have.
I'm not taking one, but it's good to know what it's supposed to be.
As for shotguns, the Ooh Rah kit comes with 4 (one on each sprue) and it looks great. Not enough for a vet team tho. I do have a bunch of Stargrave ones from the crew box, but they're civilian Remington 870 style ones, not the tacticool ones of Ooh Rah.
The way the line break was, made me think there was some kind of duck man soldiers for 40k.
While I'm posting, small updates.
Found more minis. Not sure how they've ended up so mixed up (one even lost an arm) when they've been in tupperware boxes not doing anything. Some will want a re-paint. I think I have 10-12 of Ooh Rahs and about the same Cannon Fodder. Not 100% wysiwyg but sould be good enough. Including 2 joke minis. A guy duel wielding pistols and a guy that is pointing with both hands. I might be able to edit the list to make it more wysiwyg if I really wanted.
Not sure on colour scheme yet. When I bought them I was going to do a Starship Troopers like scheme. Might still do so. I have nearly a whole can of Death Guard Green I might use for them too.
During my search, I found most of my scavengers bits. I'll have to double check them, but if I can find all 20 bodies, I'll have enough to finish the list as pure penal legion. Guys in prison jumpsuits for the regulars, guys in long coats and stolen gear for the vets. I have a bunch of spare backpacks which I can glue to the tank to make it look looted.
“Fuck, there’s these stupid Rembrancers everywhere, in everything and throwing their weight around. Is there anywhere we can be among normal brothers?”

Look, I’ve grown to thoroughly despise that “alternate Heresy” faggotry bullshit because the secondaries eat it up and it shits up good channels (Pete the Wargamer) hate it.
On the Farms we are. Lodges were meant for warriors to meet as equals, without status, without accomplishments, to sit and discuss. We are here not as our jobs, lives, statuses, but just to speak.

I have an fdm printer and its great for terrain and bases but man, sometimes I wish I got a resin printer for small bits to add to models. GW do give you bits but theres so many stls out there for different guns, heads etc. The shotgun loadouts are a good example of alt weapons.
While I wouldn't go full 3d print armies the customisation out there is excellent.
Can confirm. I was talking to my local GW manager while he was working on the Ork half of the box. His part-timer is painting the Marines and GW mandated they be Smurfs. He clearly thought it was as stupid as I did.
