I was told by a friend that Ferrus Manus was basically a Big Foot/ legend on Medusa. Nigger was a giant with big meaty claws iron hands. It’s at least kind of interesting and with the actual lore being Ferrus basically fucking around and not actually contacting the locals until he fucked about and killed that Necron/ C’tan shard it kinda fits.

That was what I believed for years and honestly it’s better than whatever the fuck GW officially has said. Ferrus being Big Foot and every clan on Medusa having some story about him would at least be some good bs for homebrew successor chapters.

GW weirdly enough just hasn't bothered with a "you're interested in this particular primarch? here's a novel all about their origin, background, etc." and a large portion of the HH Primarchs novels aren't good at that either.

So, finally managed to get my Deff Dredd (which, man was that a headche with the courier company), and thinking what paint scheme to give it. So, had this idea since good chunk of my Orks are DeathSkullz, I wanna try and give it like its looted parts with badly applied paint job, like dry brushing blue paint over like Yellow or Red..

Maybe yellow & red original paint with some blue splotches and slogans (glyphs)?

It was actually more hilarious when he tried to flex by showing his minis, which he clearly bought from someone as it was just a random mish mash of Tau and Space Marines, good majority weren't painted, others were half painted and clearly not by him.

If you want that "stolen and repurposed" effect then make some panels look freshly painted, make the paint on some panels super thin over a coat of the other guys paint (like it got washed off before it dried), and use plenty of layered chipping effects. Start with the color you want it to be > chip with a sponge the color of who you stole it from > chip with metallic around the edges.

Hmmm...Both these methods do sound good.

Yeah, just saw on Graham McNeil's twitter. Actually got me teared up. I'll have to find something suitably grotesque to paint orange, red, yellow, more orange, more red, more yellow, and a little bit of black and white.
Too bad the En Garde miniatures aren't coming out until at least September.
