This is a real question and not directly related to the humour, but why does anyone actually watch Vtubers? It has the same air to me as reaction channels do, just leeches siphoning off of better content made by actually talented people. The forced personality and persona are creepy, and generally it's subtly sexual, but I can't imagine it's *all* gooners watching.
What is the appeal if you don't jerk off to the uwu anime girl? Parasocial relationships aside; Vtubers seem so off-putting to watch as casual entertainment.

Outside of the gooner vtubers it's mostly just the same thing you'd get from any other streamer, the only difference is them having an avatar. Chatting streams or playing games, sometimes they'll stream with someone or themselves walking around irl (you see this with conventions sometimes one of them is streaming it live while someone walks their ipad around) Most of the time I have them on a different monitor so I'm not even looking at the model, I'm just listening to them.

You know what though? I can believe it, somehow. I can believe (since she lives in California) that she's this shallow of a person that she'd exploit the death of her relatives for clout, followed by talking about how starstruck she was meeting a D-list celeb and how it made everything feel better. I can genuinely believe she wasn't bullshitting that her family died (though it wouldn't surprise me if she was), and just played the situation to her favor to get attention. I don't even hear a condemnation on her part for Russia's state TV posting the clip of her A BLOO BLOOing about it. That might just be because "russia bad" has mostly left mainstream consciousness for the moment given the attention is on the middle east and not Ukraine.

She’s a LatinX with partially bleached emo hair, modeled after the villain from 101 Dalmatians, who grew up ashamed of her bisexuality. Her music is perfect for “I’m 14 and this is deep” girls, finally old enough to browse lists of ‘mental illnesses’ on Wikipedia. I knew that Viv had drawn something with MM’s lyrics and wouldn’t you know, I found it. They are the exact same species.

Finding out that this Vtuber likes MM puts a lot of her behavior into context. The VTuber troll loli is her ‘authentic self’ so it’s perfectly normal and valid for her to share all her emotional vulnerabilities through her persona. I genuinely don’t think she’s just pity-baiting for shekels. She wants the hugbox and she HAS the hugbox. Was collecting these screenshots for a xeet but this seems like a good place for them.

vtuber simping is out of control. People who give money to women that whore themselves out on the internet (virtually or otherwise) are not bullied nearly enough
if someone was simping after his bartender and getting her gifts and trying to barback for her and shit everyone would tell him to stop being cringe, but for some reason when he does it electronically it's fine
 
I've been looking into this person and she really did a stream a few days later and said her getting a tattoo and meeting some random voice actor for some cartoon was the best day of her life? She really got over her relatives dying that quickly? Why would she even bring up her relatives dying if she's pretty much acting like nothing happened and there's no way to know if she's even telling the truth? Did she even know these cousins and will there be a funeral that she'll go to for them? If not then it doesn't even seem like she was close, let alone knew these cousins to begin with. People aren't questioning this and are just attacking people for questioning it?

It's pretty normal to be pissed when someone questions the validity of what someone says, even more when they say someone close dies. But seeing how quickly she got over that, i don't know...

Even if it turns out to be true it's just weird how she moves on a few days later as if nothing happened. Like why would you even bring it up if you aren't going to take a break from it all?
