Not only are all Dunkey's videos not to be taken seriously but he actually did a good job in that video of summing the pros and cons of game journalism. Anybody getting offended is a pussy.

Anyway, yeah, I generally agree with what he says about game critics. I used to not agree with the whole "Devs are buying out reviewers" argument, but now I can agree that there is some amount of truth to that statement. Plus it's hard to really give certain games a proper review within a short time frame.

I've been a fan of Dunkey for two years, mainly for his ability to make me laugh without being a screeching sperglord a la Doug Walker. The best part is that in the very beginning of the video he mocks the average YouTube comments for being nothing but butthurt spergs REEEEing at his videos, and lo and surprise, that's exactly how the reviewers ended up reacting.

Dunkey has been known in the past to take critique to heart. His friends corroborate this. He takes what other people think of him pretty seriously, he legit is just a dude who wants to just bring a smile to people's faces and bring people together with laughter. Just hope this backlash doesn't affect him too much.

I've only vaguely heard of Dunkey before this but he seems like a pretty cool dude who makes good points and avoids stooping to the level of personal attacks while doing so. What an odd video to get offended over. Just another example of how pretty much everyone who self-identifies as a 'gamer' has a real issue at separating constructive criticism with personal attacks, not to mention criticism of things they like.

I hate to defend Sterling here since he's a shitbag, but I know his opinions on the game review industry and he likely agrees with the majority of what Dunkey said. The 'mention' was actually showing some footage from one of his videos in a not-negative context.

When you're on the internet, there's only one rule- throw out all reasonable logic. Which is why people who probably aren't autistic in real life wind up acting like such.
As we can see, the "REEEEEEE" train can affect dozens of people when someone speaks their mind about their BS. And that conflicts my feelings on Dunkey in this scneario- On the one hand, he's helped give us all this salt. On the other hand, it's also pretty sad when people in their 30s-40s get triggered as fuck over someone younger than they are just speaking his mind.
