Was wondering if anyone here uses any game key sites like G2A for buying games for Steam? If so, what are your experiences with them? Do you need to be cautious when using them? Which ones do you use?
Only bad thing with that site is seeing how modern devs will absolutely fuck you over like there is no worse feeling than seeing how game was cheaper like several times over YEARSSSSS ago than now and fuckers will def never put it on that low price ever.

I'm finally getting around to playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and oh my god now I remember why I dropped it is SO BORING. I mean seriously I've read classic cowboy novels that are more exciting than many Red Dead Redemption 2 levels.
Like look at this shit, it sucks. I'm glad Dan Houser left Rockstar if this is the shit he made the team script. If the scenario writers for RDR2 are making GTAVI then we'll get to go to DMV and get an eye exam done.

Fucking infuriating stuff in the indie/AA scene lately. Lots of interesting games coming soon, but so many of them are just completely ruined by one really major flaw.
Animula Nook is an adorable concept that I would really love to play, being a life simulation revolving around building really tiny dioramas on your desk and (presumably) living in them (I used to do this all the damn time as a wee lass so an entire game about it is like a dream come true)... but it's a fucking MMO and I just know it's going to be completely destroyed by microtransactions and/or other people. They're also trying to hide the fact that it's an MMO for whatever reason, constantly referring to it only as a "cozy life sim" and barely mentioning the free to play/MMO aspects in marketing (to the point where most extended gameplay looks like pure singleplayer stuff), which is making me doubly suspicious. I'm really upset about this one-- it even managed to make that awful Korean doll aesthetic palatable by choosing a setting where you could argue that it's actually applying to dolls and not just done to make everything look "cute." But I cannot convince myself it'll be worth playing. Grr.
Car Park Capital is one I've posted about before, but I'll bring it up again because it's a good example of this. If the person making this game wasn't a retarded r/fuckcars zealot, I'd be paying for this game thrice over and telling all of my friends about it. As it is, the entire game is essentially predicated around one super long seething session and it puts a really bad taste in my mouth. With any luck, the actual game will be mostly free of this garbage and playable by people who don't hate cars... but I don't know, I'm not counting on it.
Moonlight Peaks is the last cozy life sim I'm going to add here, because really I could include the entire fucking genre at this point and it'd be applicable, but it hurts a bit more than usual because this exact type of life sim is right up my alley. It's a sanitized version of what I'd ideally want, sure, and it's clearly taking more cues from Animal Crossing: New Horizons than I'd like, but this is probably the closest I'll get to a guilty-pleasure "classic monsters living in a perma-Halloween village together and just enjoying their lives" game unless I go out of my way to make it myself (and I can't really grasp coding no matter how much I try, so for now that's not an option). So what's ruining it?
It's a cozy life sim. What do you think? The dev added a blahaj item and keeps crowing about troons. The village also seems appropriately diverse (60% black, 40% everything else), and customization seems heavily slanted towards really modern styles of hair and clothing that just don't fit what I like or what the classic monster stuff is about. That last bit's really a nitpick-- it seems like you can make a classical vampire easily enough if you want to, and the game is obviously set in the modern day so you won't stick out too much if you don't, but it's just kind of trashy and clashes with the sense of class the subject matter is mostly known for. Autistic, I know. Still.
I'm actually going to stop myself there, because most of my future examples fall into one of two categories (either "this game was made by people who hate me and really want me to know that," "this game is in a genre I despise and avoid like a plague," or both) and this is the CHAT thread not the NEW OP thread, but you get the point. I really want to just throw myself into loving a lot of these games full force, but I can't really do that for one reason or another and it's really irritating me. Lots of blueballing going on for no good reason. Pretty sick of it.
