Okay, what is with this take of inflation to justify the increase of game prices?

We're not mad that they're charging too damned much for GTA6. We're mad that thanks to our shitty government printing money to avoid having to tell boomers and others no once in a while, we're at about 95% inflation since the year 2000. But we can't express that becuase there is no solution to that that doesn't involve our economy collapsing. Which it's going to do anyway.

Totally agree.

Maybe games are more expensive due to inflation AND shitty management that can't manage projects to save their lives and instead scope creep the hell out of something that should only take 3 years to finish.

But that doesn't matter because games are not an essential service. So even if those rainbow-haired freaks are right that games should cost more, I don't care. I have inflated groceries, transportation, housing, healthcare, and retirement (if I'm able to retire at all) to save for because people are delusional if they think social security is going to be around and that medicare/medicaid will be for anyone except whatever shade of brown or genderspecial is at the top of the progressive stack that election cycle.

Games studios compete for a limited optional share of my wallet regardless of inflation and I'm more than happy to give that shrinking slice to games that aren't gay or reddit, or to just hang onto it and give it to organizations that actively work against the evil tankies that want to see me dead.

GTA6 is $80. It's the cheapest GTA game.

For reference, Chrono Trigger cost $150.

I had to look up "purchasing power" to understand why that argument is flawed. Basically, purchasing power is how much your money can buy now from then.

The above post shows this flaw because A), those games did not cost that much THEN at launch, B) that means that your dollar NOW is worth LESS then BEFORE.

Adjusting past prices for current inflation only highlights how less your dollar is now, not how much MORE something "SHOULD be worth."

This is part of why I roll my eyes so hard when people glaze Steam and Gaben. Steam generally has a light touch with account bans, and they do ensure you retain access to delisted games (must be on the agreements they sign with publishers), but it doesn't change the fact that the reason they don't just shut down people's libraries is they choose not to, not because they haven't fundamentally transformed PC gaming into an online rental service where you own nothing, everything's a live service, and you praise St Gaben the Fat for it.
 
My whole the whole GTA controversy thing g is because retards couldn’t just wait a few days before shitting themselves and for just being tards in general.

Literally the next day Rockstar confirmed disc versions of the game are coming at a later date.

No retard, vehicle customization and tattoos are not locked behind the extra 20 bucks those specific shops are.

All it takes is a small amount of reading comprehension.
 
Was wondering if anyone here uses any game key sites like G2A for buying games for Steam? If so, what are your experiences with them? Do you need to be cautious when using them? Which ones do you use?

I use a lot of them my main site is https://gg.deals/pc/ (make sure to select correct region) that site is an agregator it pulls the data from all existing sites and compares the prices and shit (and shows discounts).
My experience is VERY good i got VERY good deals over the years even when there was a problem it was solved rather quickly.
For caution ALWAYS make sure to check if the key can be activated in your country (most sites have auto detect country and will display green checkmark if it works) in the past when i was trying to buy Ghost of Tsushima it displayed that it would work but it DIDNT so i got them to refund the cash after following their steps on support page (i bought and refunded the same game from like several key providers and they all refunded and then changed that key didnt work after the fact on main page)
I use above mentioned agregator (there is another one whose name i forgot but its UI is VERY shit)

To my recollection it was a worse version of a cod campaign(that was set in a drug cartel/war on drugs setup) with some mediocre semi-linear elements. It was also one of those games that came around the Kane and Lynch era where the entire dialog had to make room for at least 4 swears per sentence. I don't remember the exact line but someone quotes Matthew 10:36 and he goes I HAVE COME NOT TO BRING FUCKING PEACE BUT A FUCKING SWORD

There is one cool part about the game, is that in the co-op campaign there are some hidden objectives. The plot is that three corrupt cops from various organizations are teaming up together to do something and each character gets their own illegal activity to perform, planting evidence, stealing drug money, roughing up someone, etc. You do that activity under the nose of your partners and you get bonus exp for it, and I think the ending changes slightly(all boiling down to either a news reel of your corrupt agent being arrested in the bad ending or them finding closure in the good ending)

If you ever create a Brawler(melee- fists) character just know the class is pretty shit until you get access to a specific perk point which happens to be the end of that perk tree(the one that reduces attacks to 1ap/attack) then it becomes one of the strongest(I'd argue the strongest) classes in your party. The kind that can carry the hell out of every fight.

I just buy whatever game I want when I want to play it because I basically play like 1 game a month or so now, and it's just not a lot of money.
 
I remember meeting at school and discussing which gta 4 character we saved and killed. Will they ever do something as "Non-100%" as that again? Like, literally leave the map affected by who you did in?
